Adam Lambert and Clay AikenHe may wear guy-liner, but Adam Lambert ain't no punk bitch -- dude finally fired back at Clay Aiken over that negative web-rant last week.

The new "A.I." runner up blasted the old "A.I." runner up in an interview with Access Hollywood yesterday, saying "I don't know Clay ... I'm glad he's getting headlines now though, because he wasn't before."

Lambert added, "If he wants to ride my coattails about it, good for him."

If you recall, Aiken started this cat fight last week, saying he thought his "ears would bleed" when he heard Lambert sing "Ring of Fire." Aiken then tee'd off on how much better "American Idol" used to be when he was on it back in the day.

Aiken later kinda, sorta apologized for his verbal assault ... don't expect the same from Adam.

64. Adam is the new Idol for the Geriatric set. From Gene Simmons to Queen, to the AARP members. Look at all the old mommies defending him. Kris has the young fans and the beautiful voice. Adam is a loser and a crater faced poser.

66. I guess Kris won on merit, without the false eyelashes and the screechy drag queen gimmicks. And while I'm not a die hard Clay Aiken fan, the man has incredible talent. I just read someplace that Adam Lambert thinks he has coattails that Clay Aiken, successful entertainer, needs. Where are those coattails hidden on his dresses?

67. I agree with Adam on this. I used to be a Clay fan, way back in the day as people always picked on him and he did have a great voice. However, Clay has really seemed completely nutty to me these last few years. I really liked Adam this season. The best part is he never tried to cover up who he is like Clay did. Clay always denied he was gay. Clay was the one who was being judgmental and trying to get his name into the media again. What HAS Clay done lately? I am totally disappointed in his career. He has become a joke. Thankfully Adam is more comfortable being himself and being in the spotlight. Clay acts like he is better then Adam...like he is a "clean cut gay guy". LOL. Clay, please do something with your career that is meaningful again and stop putting down other people.
And I happen to love Kris as well. I will buy both of their albums and Adam has said over and over that he is happy Kris won.

69. WAY TO GO CLAY. Adam has his nose out of joint cause Simon Paula Randy Kara all told him he would win and that he was good. He sucks. BIG TIME. He was just a screamer. The best singer did win unlike Clay's year. Clay was the better singer but Ruben was the chosen winner.
