If Bush had done this...Dems would have criticized....Barack does this and Republicans are up in arms...point is...it is a wasteful spending of tax dollars which no politicians are entitled to, period. Sorry, once you ran for President and won you lost your "normal" life....have a "local" date like all us normal folks. Try a dinner and movie up the street and save the Broadway play for the next time you are in the city on business. No brainer here.

49. And we pay for the mother-in-law to live in the White House. Obama's aunt entered the country and is staying here illegally and we pay for her now with public assistance, including food stamps and housing.

They traveled to New York City for no other purpose but to please themselves. Geesh, they could have acted like they traveled to meet with the mayor and then throw in the night out as a matter of course. Nope, let it be known, they wanted a night out and damn it, they took it. He paid for the tickets. HA! That is the best joke of the day.

Maybe the country could pay for me to fly to NYC and see a Broadway play. Nope, can't do it cuz I got to work through the weekend to pay for my son's graduation fees.

I'm waiting for Obama to answer the question of what happened to the billions of U.S. taxpayers' money given to 'save' GM and Chrysler. They're both bankrupt as of Monday morning. No accountability is not acceptable.

Obama fiddles while U.S. economy burns. Wait, did I just hear Michelle say, "Let them eat cake"!?

54. Some of you on here are definitely HATERS. Where were your complaints when Bush spent most of his time on his ranch choking on a pretzel than actually being in the White House? Where were the complaints when at a president's dinner, Bush jokingly "looked under the table" and stated that there weren't any weapons of mass destruction under there? Where were the complaints?!! No one in American History has bankrupted a whole country like Bush has. And you have the audacity to blame Obama for Bush's 8 yrs of mistakes? PUUHLEASE. This would be a different story if Obama was cheating on his wife than taking her on date nights. You would be ready to impeach him. Complaining about him taking his WIFE on a DATE? Men don't do this enough. This is a man that has THE most stressful, difficult job and STILL has the time for his wife and kids. You don't even see or hear this with the CEOs that took & played with OUR money and probably gave most of it to girls on the pole and their mistresses.

55. 480 of vacation isn't a lot. Put together all your weekend and vacation time for eight years. Most people do have a total of 832 days off. The president is on call even during those days off anyway. They are still making major decision just at the vacation home not the White House. I do think that Presidents do get too much freebies however. They need to reduce mileage on planes and cars to help the global warming crisis. Obama isn't doing anything unusual just that the recession put focus on the millions that the President cost us a year.

57. This has been blown out of proportion. Just because the economy is down and others are in bankruptcy, does not mean that they are not entitled to a night out. Those companies are capitalist and don't care about us, the consumers, drowning in debt and now they want pity and ask for us to be locked up in our homes. Countless Presidents have spent more money on bigger trips. As far as I know, Michelle wears inexpensive clothing, was any other First Lady like her? I BELIEVE NOT. I hope Mr. and Mrs. Obama had a great night in New York.

And anything the president does is spending tax dollars. even if he paid for his own jet there is still security and secret service to be paid for. he's the president of the United States.
