37. Do not drive under the influence. That's an easy one to follow. The problem is you can get in trouble even if you were not under the influence. I was pulled over about 2years ago for being under the influence. I don't drink and make sure I'm careful with my prescription meds. I don't take any illegal drugs. I could tell something was wrong with me but didn't know what. I told the CHP this and what I remembered. Apparently I started speeding, spun out and fortunately didn't hit anything. I brain started to work or so I thought so I started for home. I was still dazed so I started pulling off the freeway. At that time the CHP pulled behind me and pulled me over. I had urinated on myself, had difficulty speaking, along with other things I don't remember, the report also said I told him I didn't know where I was going. I did the breath test at the CHP office, it was zero. I started halucinating, babbling and passed out a couple of times in the CHP office. I was able to call my brother to come pick me up. The CHP kept threatening to lock me up. I also told him any meds I had a prescription for and told him I hadn't taken any since the previous day. My brother said I passed out and halucinated while in his car. I had him take me straight to the emegency room. After all kinds of tests and I.V.s, 10 hours later they asked me if I was diabetic because I had high blood sugar. I had no idea I was diabetic. I had eaten pop tarts and orange juice for a snack the previous night and had quite a few pop tarts with orange juice again that morning 2 hours prior to being pulled over. The district attorney had the sheriff lab check my blood 3 different times. I didn't have anything in my blood. It ends up I was going into a diabetic coma! But since the D.A. said I tried to drive home he still was going to get me for wreckless driving! What! I didn't know what I was doing, I wouldn't have driven if I had any idea of this. So $8,000 later I have a wreckless on my driving record. At least I beat the DUI, I knew I wasn't under the influence. Just so you know, any dui is a criminal offense and is on you permanent record. I wish I could sue the CHP. He could have killed me! He was more worried about getting an attaboy than doing what was right. From my brothers description of me, he should have sent me straight to the emergency room!

39. Why was a kid skateboarding in the street at night? This is not her fault. It is the kids fault for skateboarding in traffic. I think the kids parents owe her an apology for being irresponsible parents and raising a stupid kid.

40. $100,000 bail for a DUI?? That seems quite excessive to me...even if she only had to pay 10% of that...that's still $10,000!!

41. Who is this moron reporter scumbag? He's the same stupid idiot who kept bothering Woody Harrelson so much, Woody smacked him a few times then started crying "Oh, you hit me!" Stupid baby. Someone should put his lights out pretty good, maybe that would stop him from asking stupid questions. Listen to him talking to Lori "What happed? You could have hurt someone." No duh you stupid jerko. Don't you think she knows this by now? I'd love for you to come up to me, I'd shove that camcorder up your azz!

42. hey, dumbasses...she was drunk or high. it does not matter if the skateboarder hit her car in the middle of the street, fell off a roof onto her car, or magically bounced off her fender...SHE WAS DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE!!! so, stop all the defensive statements about maybe it was the skateboarder's fault and join the smart people of this world in condemning driving under the influence. cab rides do not cost enough to risk endangering yourself or others.

43. Thank you, Rico, for - finally - a comment with common sense.

I love, love, love Lori Petty! She was amazingly adorable in Point Break, and I thought she was wonderful in A League of Their Own ("Dottie Hinson: Lay off the high ones! Kit Keller: I like the high ones! Dottie Hinson: Mule! Kit Keller: Nag!") Even though she may not be an A-lister, she is one of my favorite actresses.

Now, having said that, look folks. As Rico said, it doesn't matter if the skateboarder targeted her car and flew right at her. Her DUI is not about a skateboarder. That just happens to be part of the story. While she is presumed innocent, IF she was under the influence, she never should have been on the road. Her car wouldn't have even been on the road to target. There is never an excuse to drive under the influence. Well, I won't say never, but I haven't heard one, yet. It's dangerous, it's deadly and it's the law. So don't blame the skateboarder, also known as VICTIM in this case, for Lori's alleged DUI. If she was under the influence, it's her fault and she was wrong. I do hope she gets help, though. I really like her.

Sure, skateboarders can be annoying, but so can people who write stupid things on boards without thinking. Actually, I have never had a skateboarder irritate me as much as some of these posts do some days.
