47. You guys are ridiculous. A murderer? Really? Yeah, she may have been doing something stupid like "being on a cellphone", but by the way, idiot, celebrities aren't the only ones that do that. Why should she have to pay them for the rest of their lives? And, before anyone says anything, I have had someone lost like that and, to whoever said no amount of money could replace them - you're right. It won't matter if they give me (or these kids) $1 billion or pay a certain amount for the rest of my life. You'll never fully enjoy it knowing the circumstances it springs from.

52. Under California law, children can only be charged 20% of settlement, so 20% of $300,000 is $60,000 so that the total lawyer's fee is $120,000. The kids get $240,000 each, and a bank account is established whereby no one can touch the money until they reach 18 years old. For the father, it would be more. Personally, I think Brandy could have intervened with her lawyers, and make sure the kids got more. What would you do Brandy if that was your mom, regardless of fault? Proper following distance on the freeway would have prevented this. I avoided a big rig disaster by keeping far enough away. Everyone is too much in a hurry. If you are late, you are late. Start earlier.

53. This was a terrible tragedy. But it was an accident. Brandy has paid her dues and has to live with the fact that she was directly involved with the death of another person. I think that is punishment enough. She wasn't drunk, and as far as the whole talking on the phone thing goes, everyone does it. Everyone. Maybe not all the time, but everyone has done it. So that isn't just some "stupid celebrity thing" Bottom line is, this could have happened to anyone. Brandy was in the wrong place at the wrong time and now she is paying the price. But she doesn't deserve to be called a murderer. It was an accident. A terrible one, but an accident none the less.

55. 13. I hope he ends up getting NOTHING. He's just being GREEDY now. If it was a regular person who hit him and killed his wife - where would that person get 1 million to give him. So since Brandy has money - he wants to go for broke instead of settling with the fact his wife could of been killed by a drunk driver with NO MONEY. I hope his greed ends up getting him NOTHING.

Your comments are outrageous!
Rich people buy more insurance because they have more to lose in case of an accident. The victim WASN'T killed by a poor person and therefore her family was ENTITLED to the amount of Brandy's policy and part of her wealth. Sounds like you're jealous of the money this family's receiving. Shame on the both of you. A woman is dead because of Brandy's recklessness.
