This woman did not ask for the question she was asked at the Miss USa pageant in regard to gay marriage, She did not ask for the controversy or the ugliness that follwed due to her anti gay marriage remark on the Miss USA pageant. I am sick of the current Mis USa and miss california who replaced Carrie saying they would have answered differntly or wish to put this suvject to rest. These women have not had to endure the firestorm that erupted as a result of carrie simply speaking her opinion, which she had the right to do. It is easy for someone to say they would have said something differntly when they were not asked the question at all during he pageant, Perez Hilton is the one who needs his butt kicked, This classless man has not once apologized to Prejean over calling her a stupid bitch. It is difficult for someone to garner support or empathy for ones cause , when the behavior they exhibit is ungracious and plain trashy. I am not bashing Perez because he is gay. his sexual preference is his business. But due to his ill manners he is no model for a judge, or for much of anything, in my opinion.

Police: Slaying suspect confesses, admits bearing 'ill-will' toward ex-wife

CANTON — City police say James Mammone III wanted to make his ex-wife suffer, and that’s why he fatally stabbed their two young children and shot his former mother-in-law to death.

Mammone confessed to Monday’s killing spree, police say. Now the 35-year-old Canton man will face murder charges.

“It appears the motive was he wanted to inflict severe emotional pain on his ex-wife,” Chief Dean McKimm said. “He has been rather forthcoming in these interviews. We believe we obtained what we consider to be a full confession regarding the crimes at hand.”

POSSIBLE MOTIVE

Mammone was arrested Monday morning outside his home at 1424 Fulton Rd. NW.

He is facing three aggravated murder charges in the deaths of Margaret J. Eakin, 57, who was shot multiple times inside her Poplar Avenue NW home, and Mammone’s two children, Macy Mammone, 5, and James Mammone IV, 3. The children suffered stab wounds to their necks.

Canton Police Department detectives have been interviewing Mammone since his arrest.

“He harbored ill-will,” McKimm said. “He wanted to inflict emotional pain by attacking those who were most dear to his ex-wife.”

City police also have charged Mammone with aggravated burglary based on an allegation he barged into Margaret Eakin’s home in the 300 block of Poplar Avenue NW.

Mammone’s ex-wife is Marcia Mammone, who lives in the 400 block of Aultmont Avenue NW, just outside the city limits in Canton Township.

Stark County sheriff’s deputies also charged Mammone with felony counts of aggravated burglary and violation of a court protection order connected to his alleged attempt to break into his ex-wife’s home.

County sheriff deputies also charged Mammone with two misdemeanor counts of criminal damaging or endangering stemming from allegations that Mammone poured gasoline over the door at his ex-wife’s duplex.

He also poured gasoline on a pickup truck belonging to Harold B. Carter, according to complaints sheriff deputies filed with Municipal Court.

Carter is believed to be a friend of Marcia Mammone, said Stark County Sheriff Tim Swanson.

‘MINIMAL TIMELINE’

Marcia Mammone lived a short distance from her mother, Margaret Eakin. The incident at Marcia Mammone’s home was reported to authorities within minutes of the homicide on Poplar Avenue NW.

Canton police first were notified of the shooting at Margaret Eakin’s home at 5:41 a.m. Monday. Police located Mammone at 8:45 a.m., entering the driveway of his home on Fulton.

McKimm would not disclose when and where the children were killed.

“We don’t want to engage in speculation,” McKimm said. “We have released a fairly minimal timeline right now.”

The two children were discovered dead strapped in child safety seats inside the vehicle Mammone had been driving.

“My belief is they were killed in those seats,” said Harry Campbell, chief investigator with the county coroner’s staff. “They were stabbed with a knife to the neck. Several knives were recovered from the car and other weapons. I am not going to be more specific.”

Bond for Mammone is set at $15 million.

The deaths make seven homicides in Canton within a three-week period.

Monray J. Jones, 24, was shot and killed outside a tavern in the 2600 block of Eighth Street NE on May 21. Southeast-section resident Marcus A. Garner, 24, is charged with murder in the case.

Three people were fatally shot outside another tavern in the 2500 block of Ninth Street SW. Those victims were Melissa Pinney, 31, and Jonathon Pierce, 32, both of Canton, and De’Andre Ruffin, 22, of Massillon.

Edward Martino III, 24, is facing three aggravated murder charges. Those shootings occurred May 27.
