586. Chastity is going though an identity crisis which many depressed lesbians or gays go though. It is common at one time for them at one time to truely believe they should be the other sex. Some like Chastity find doctors that let them start a process that at a later time will wish they never did. She- Chastity has not been informed what happends to a body once put on hormones and all the health problems she will go though. Chastity will always be a female and should not be concidered a male. She has not gone through any of the processes that a true female to male must go though before starting any hormone theropy..No true female to male does this in public, no true female to male starts hormone theropy without first being in great phycical health and shape also a hysterectomy is required to remove the female organs if a female is going to be a true male.She is playing a fantasy game calling herself a male. Has she lived as a male for at least 2 years?? Has she held a job as a male for at least 2 years. Answer ..NO..Does she realize she is cutting her life short and will develope many health problems and mental problems..By doing this in public she is very confused and there are doctors out there that just want thier name known for being part of this sad story. There will come a point where she will realise she has made a mistake. I just hope this happends before she mutilates her body. She needs mental help now before it's to late this is not a game it is deadly serious and no one seems to care. For a female to become male or a male to become female there are many sacrafices one must go though. She- Chastity has not done one thing to prove she should be a male...I hate to see how this will all turn out..It is beyond sad. Chastity realize you are a female who will always be a female and think like a female. Face it you are a lesbian and nothing you do will change that fact. Chastity 's true name is female her body is female her mind is female. You Chastity have no idea what a male is. You will become a female with a mustache...there is nothing male about you..no true female to male would ever wear make up lipstick, eyebrowse and hair done or ever dress female as you do even though you say your clothes are male...what kind of underwear do you wear??? Bra panties??? Chastity has small female hands and feet will she stop doing her nails and also change her footwear. Guys have a bulg in thier pants..Chastity you don't..She also has very female hips and breast and fascial features.. Hormones and surgery can't change your bone structure. You female Chastity need new doctors who really care about you and your mother needs to get you the proper help to realize you will always be a female.

A publication from the American Psychological Association includes an admission that there is no "gay" gene, according to a doctor who has written about the issue on the website of National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality.

A. Dean Byrd, the past president of NARTH, confirmed that the statement from the American Psychological Association came in a brochure that updates what the APA has advocated for years.

Specifically, in a brochure that first came out about 1998, the APA stated: "There is considerable recent evidence to suggest that biology, including genetic or inborn hormonal factors, play a significant role in a person's sexuality."

However, in the update: a brochure now called, "Answers to Your Questions for a Better Understanding of Sexual Orientation & Homosexuality," the APA's position changed.

The new statement says:

"There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles. ..."

590. Chastity Bono Sex Chsnge. I'm 19, college student, never really saw, heard, thought about gay/gays before a couple of freshman classes about gender, so was kinda surprised how upset the whole thing makes people (on both/many sides). Its surprising to see that science is so uncertain whether "gay" is something a person is born with, learns, chooses, is it abnormal, is it wrong, etc. One coursebook I had, Gendered Lives (by Julia Wood) goes into all the ways people learn their "gender identification", and so it really doesnt try to say gay is good, bad, right, wrong, but more describes the many subtle ways that an individual "learns" what his or her (or hermes) gender/gender role is, which maybe suggests that gender is learned, but could also I guess suggest that a person sort of discovers his/he gender from a combination of awareness of inner feelings, seeing how others see you, etc. Bottom line is it seems to be a real challenge for the people who are not "mainstream" when it comes to gender, so I guess Chastity Bono comes across in the news stories as kind of a sympathetic figure who is trying to deal with what have been difficult circumstances and choices. I'd like to know how people view my comments, do they agree, disagree, have a different take, how else should I be looking at this, etc. Thanks, 19 Year Old College Student

593. Do any of you know what female pedophile is? Anyone who read her last book would be able to figure out that she was abused by a female pedophile during a very young age. This woman "Joan" was extremely sexually active with alot of people, not just her. Part of this stage of getting lured in by a pedophile is making a kid feel special.How come no one is questioning this relationship and what has happened to her? I am completely shocked at this public denial. The sex-change is not going to help help her become happy. She has to deal with what has happened to her and why she has low self-esteem. She needs to wake-up and realize she was not in love with a pedophile. That is a common mistake of most abused kids. What is her psychologist thinking? Can't they recognize the signs?

598. I say who cares what Charity or Chaz wants to do with their life. That is the whole point, it's THEIR life not mine, or yours so get over it people. If something doesn't directly effect you in any sort of way then there is no point in making such a ridiculous fuss over it such as gays, or people who don't eat meat, or people that are or are not believers in God. If you really have to whine all the time about other people maybe you should look at yourself and figure out what's wrong with you instead of bashing others.

As for americans all being fat slobs, it's not totally true. I live in an area that is known for health nuts, to the point they basically have eating disorders because they don't eat and over exercise. I lived in Britain for a while and the British ate far more junk food and fried foods then where I live in the states. There were loads of KFC, Burger Kings, and McDonalds, not to mention kababs, mayo on your chips, and other things that are equally as bad for you. EVERYONE eats junk food to a point so don't try to say only yanks eat crap cause I know from traveling that is a total lie. Britain has just as many chunky monkeys and crap food as America, they just have better ways of obtaining healthier foods and don't put hmo's and chemicals in their food likes us yanks.
