73. Donald Trump could have prevented all these problems had he been the smart business man he claims to be. As owner of the pageant, he has the responsibility to protect the contestants to the best of his ability. He should have denounced Perez Hilton, Keith Lewis, and Shana Moakler for their disrespectful comments. They support gay marriage and that's their right. It is Carrie Prejean's right not to support it. In her answer she was very polite and said she was glad people could feel how they wanted to about it, but that's not good enough for the Politically Correct folks. If you have a different opinion, you will be vilified by them, and that's just what Hilton did in the nastiest way he could. Donald Trump, when he allowed Carrie Prejean to keep her crown, said Perez Hilton would be welcomed back as a judge. That speaks volumes about
Trump's lack of character. In my opinion, he should have said no one who spoke about a contestant in the manner Hilton did would ever be allowed to participate in any pageant he owned. He certainly isn't requiring respect for young girls, but I wonder what he would say if Hilton called either of his daughters the names he called Carrie Prejean. For Keith Lewis and Shana Moakler to come out and say they disagreed with her was most inappropriate. Their opinion was not necessary and totally uncalled for...it was their own agenda, and the pageant was no place for it. I would have fired both of them. Shanna Moakler, if accounts are true, is no role model for young ladies! Keith Lewis has his own agenda and he shouldn't be allowed to bring it into pageants.

Carrie Prejean has been vilified by some on this blog, and that's your right to do so, but you might ask yourself just how mature Keith Lewis, Perez Hilton, and Shanna Moakler appear to be. They are either grossly immature or stupid!

Amen!!! You're exactly correct in everything you said. I'm actually very shocked that Trump has allowed the Neo-Gay Nazi bullies that have hijacked his Miss California office to continue. Trump is more Conservative than liberal, so the only thing I can think of is that any type of controversy is good news for him. I'd be very surprised if he keeps Lewis on, and there's no way in hell he'll allow Shana back and I seriously doubt Mario will be a "fair and objective" judge again next year. But as much as Trump loves to be in the news, he may in fact keep them around just to continue stirring the pot.

I've lost a lot of respect for Trump over all this. Trump as a person knows good and well that Lewis and Moakler were bullies with an agenda and have zero business running any type of pageant. But the business side of Trump knows controversy puts the spotlight on his fading Miss USA contest.
