You have the right to free speech, but I and others have the right to denounce what you say, contact sponsors of the programming, post blogs, etc. Accordingly, the entire Miss California fiasco has been an exercise in free speech. Therefore, everyone of you right wingers who claim that the liberals have somehow violated Miss California's freedoms are completely wrong, which is not a new experienc for any of you.

54. I don't think what she thinks of gay marriage is the point of her firing. What does make me laugh is the whole "nailin Palin" video itself. I dont mind porn because I am human. But I do mind sanctimous people that think we are all out to get them. I dont care if gays marry ,it should be legal, but if the State says no so be it. these bible thumpers need to chill. While it's hard to argue that her actual speech was mean-spirited- (she actually voiced her opinions in a way tolerant of others' right to choose) -she's blowing this way out of proportion by implying that her free speech was stifled. She posed semi-nude several times- in violation of her agreement, she joined an advocacy group in violation of her agreement and she allegedly violated her agreement again by not fulfilling her appearance obligations. If she got fired, it's her bosses' decision. Had she been fired for 'free speech' she'd have been let go weeks ago.

I'm sure she'll have a career in the near future because of her celebrity. Now that she's fired she can be a spokesperson for anti-gay marriage causes without conflicting other interests, if that's what she wants to do. By the way, I'm liberal. That means you accept those with opposing viewpoints without insulting them. Or at least, it should.

Ike, you're waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off base hun. How you can turn a complete blind eye to the fact that her SUPERIORS immediately began viciously attacking her within seconds of her answer to a bs, politically charged question that had no business being asked in the first place, is astounding. It was their responsibility to support her and be there for her, not lead the charge at maliciously attacking her. These people have been conspiring since that day to find a way to get rid of her. And has karma would have it, even the new Miss California supports Prop 8 and the voters right to decide on gay marriage.

There's a difference in "posing nude" and modeling nude, which she did the latter. The nastyass, gutless, liberal photographers she trusted with her shoots released the photos. They weren't meant for public viewing. Therefore she didn't "pose" nude. And where's the proof that she didn't filfull her contract? You're obviously believing the words of the proven intolerant bigot Keith Lewis, who made it his mission to try and destory Carrie, but luckily for all decent people in this country he made her into a star.

And as a liberal, you should be pointing fingers at those attacking this young woman, instead of defending them. You seem as hypocritical as all the rest.
