Sosa Allegedly

Thought 'Roids

Were All the Rage

6/16/2009 11:58 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

sosa-1We know it's a stretch to think a guy who hit 36 homers in '97 and then 66 in '98 was doing more than eating his Wheaties -- but that's exactly what a new report is alleging.

Legendary Chicago Cub Sammy Sosa is now accused of testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug in 2003, according to the New York Times.

A total of 104 cheaters -- including A-Roid -- failed that fateful round of '03 tests, back when there was no penalty for first-time use of performance-enhancing drugs.

The list, which the MLB sealed but never destroyed, was recently seized by the Feds in order to investigate how so many drugs were making their way into clubhouses.

Sosa told Congress back in '05 that he never hit the juice -- we'll see if that comes back to bite him in the ass.

Just another biatch athlete like A-Roid. I swear Griffey is the only pure athlete in the last 20 years. Bonds, Sosa, Mark Maquire, and hundreds of others are all complete jokes. If Griffey was injured for three years straight he would be the HR king, no doubt.

As a former reporter, I interviewed Sosa in the clubhouse back in 1999. Sosa had his shirt off and it was very apparent to everyone in the media corps he was juicing. He's a flat-out liar.

As a Cubs fan, I still find it a disgrace that his juiced up ass still couldn't get us anywhere close to a Championship. All he was concerned about were his home runs.

All known users might as well fess up. One by One their names are being published. All users should not be allowed in the MLB Hall of Fame. All records before 2003 of users should not count. If any of them has lied under oath they should be prosecuted.

I blame the DR...that country produces nothing but cheating baseball players...they even have baseball factories for their youth---why is MLB going there for talent? Our Country's minority players arent considred worth enough, so we have to go to a 3rd world country whose national sport is rooster fighting, and cheating is part of the culture to find players?

Its disgraceful...if you need a country to go to besides the USA, go to Cuba---forget the DR, they cheat and look you in the eye like Sosa has done and lie lie lie. They all do and its not considered wrong---its considered part of how to behave. They kill roosters for sport the way Michael Vick killed dogs for sport...

Sosa is a Fraud and so are too many players from the DR---not all, but far too many than should be.

They should take any and all baseball users who have tested psoitive for roids, and erase them from any and all teams and books. These so-called athletes, have given this sport such a bad name. I will stick with the honest legends of baseball, who relied on true skill to advance their careers.

Hey #11 (Wilson) Great pitching and good defense gets you a Championship NOT a lot of home runs! It's truly SAD that people find that they have to cheat to get ahead or be the best! The ol American way!!!!!

Our country needs people that show that good "moral character" is what is truly important.

Go Cubs and Braves!!
