Customers: KFC Giveaway Clucked Up Our Lives

6/17/2009 7:29 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

KFCHell hath no fury like a chicken lover scorned -- as you'll see in this lawsuit filed by people who are pissed over KFC's free chicken giveaway.

James Asanuma just filed the suit on behalf of KFC fans everywhere, saying the chain's May giveaway was nothing short of a scam to deceive its customers into spending more dough.

The lawsuit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, says KFC promised everyone "2 pieces of grilled chicken, two individual sides and a biscuit" -- but the promotion, which was promoted on the "Oprah Winfrey Show," turned out to be so popular they couldn't meet the demand.

And that's when the biscuit hit the fan.

The suit says that because KFC couldn't dish out the food as promised, they were forced to give vouchers for free food in the future.

The suit says this "bait and switch" caused customers to incur "travel costs, paper and printing costs, postage, the money they spent on other food items at KFC on visits when they had intended to redeem the Coupon ... and the loss of the value of the promised Meal."

James is suing KFC, because he's hungry for a little payback.

Hey James... f@ck you. Get a j. o. b. Get off your fat @ss and make an honest living! Move out of your parents basement, get laid, and become a responsible human being instead of a useless leach on society which you apparently have become. Enough with the meal ticket lawsuits. SHEEZ!

This is what I think. To combat these frivolous and ENDLESS lawsuits that people seem to feel entitled to for their "meal ticket"... so they don't have to actually WORK for a living..,.. perhaps what should happen is whoever LOSES the lawsuit has to pay ten times the court costs. Lawyer AND loser each. That way people might think twice about filing a frivoulous lawsuit AND the shady lawyers that will take any stupid suit would have to dip into their own pockets when they loose. I bet there would be a lot fewer of these idiotic wastes of taxpayers time and energy. This is coming from someone who has sat on one of these stupid, idiotic cases. Enough already.

Honestly America, Its free so stop complaining about it. They gave us some free food, I didn't get free food but I"m okay with that and not filling a lawsuit because ITS FREE. This lawsuit should be thrown out for the stupidity of it.

I have always helped people and "stuck my neck out both financially and physically helping anyone that was truly in need, but I think it is true "no good deed goes unpunished!" They had no idea so many people would jump on this deal. The economy and greed had it become an out of control deal. They extended the time, so everyone could have their free meal. I didn't go down and get the free chicken because I hate crowds, but I don't blame anyone who wants a free meal in the present economy. I am very Leary about helping people now, because it often does come back and bite you.

I, too, was there at KFC in May and was asked to take a voucher instead of the 'free meal' because they couldn't keep up with the demand. However, all I did was go somewhere else. It was no big deal! I'm sure as hell NOT going to sue over it! My gosh, this lawsuit is just as ridiculous as the one a few years ago where that lady tried suing McDonalds over hot coffee burning her tongue! Coffee, you idiot! Of course it's going to be hot! Everyone now-a-days is just too sue-happy. Get over it and move on. My God.....suing over "Travel costs; paper and printing costs; postage; the money they spent on other food items at KFC on visits when they had intended to redeem the coupon and the loss of the value of the promised meal". To all of you that are included in the lawsuit and the lawyers defending these people........HOW RIDICULOUS DOES THAT SOUND????? You're a bunch of idiots..................Get a life.

When I went to redeem my coupon and got my raincheck we eneded spending $17 dollars there anyways, and I told my husband this is some bigwig at KFC's plan to get our money and he thought I was crazy. But think about it, why would they offer to give away free chicken for TWO weeks instead of just two days or something and then have Oprah announce it, they would have KNOWN the demand would be too great. Very clever, but I won't eat at KFC again.

hahahahahha!!!!!

Yet a further example of why blacks are still 200 years behind the rest of civilization. All they want are handouts and are the owners of the most ridiculous lawsuits ever filed. "Travel cost?" LOL!!! Please, we all know they walk everywhere.

The best part about this whole story, it was "promoted on the Oprah Whinfrey Show!!!!" BAWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Now why isn't this racist of her? I mean, can she get a pass with promoting watermelons and grape soda as well?

James Asanuma is the General Manager at a Electrical repair shop.

I think TMZ should go there to interview the frustrated guy.
It would be a finger-licking good story.

Since Obama doesn't seem to care about fixing the economy, jobs, or peace in the Middle East, this TOTALLY seems like a subject he would love to be all over.
