Very Away Game? Steelers Penetrate Iran Protests

Protests raged on today in Iran as the country's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, declared a "definitive victory" for President Mahmo... hey is that guy wearing a Steelers jersey? Yes. Yes he is! He is definitely wearing a Steelers jersey! Goooo Steeeeee-lahs!

Iranian Protest

In what has to be an attempt to instill fear in the hearts of his oppressors, this valiant man figuratively let his hair down and donned the jersey of one the most feared NFL defensive players on the planet -- Troy Polamalu.

Thanks to our friends at Deadspin -- via PSAMP -- for spotting that guy's undeniable awesomeness.

19. Woooow Big Deal. U call this news. Must be a slow day. The whole world is international now. Just like KFC and Mc Donalds is everywhere so is the clothes, cars and other items in any country. Maybe TMZ needs to pay its writers more to travel global to educate themselves. In today's world anybody can order crap online in any country and ship it anywhere. Wow a Steeles Jersey in Iran. Big freaking deal. Hey buddy travel over there and u will see 1000 more of those I bet u and a lot more that your little brain can not think of. They are not so behind like US compared to high technology in Germany, South Korea, Japan or Dubai. . How sad and so behind u are. Think dummy. Or have Harvey to buy a book so u can get smarter....

21. Yeah, "Crazy People"- you ignorant MORON! Evidently, you have NEVER studied the region in which this is all taking place. You probably pronounce Iran as "I-RAN" and use your ethnocentric brain and refer to this "little" dispute as going on in "the middle east." You are a PERFECT example of the IGNORANT Kool-Aid drinking IDIOTS who put Lord Obama in power. At least now we know that the MINDLESS FOOLS who voted for this joke of a president are as much in the dark as he is!!!!!! Just drink more kool-aid, dude and collect your (my) money at the unemployment office!!!!

22. Um Steeler's fan here. That doesn't look like any Steeler's shirt I have ever seen. It's just black. There is no gold on it and the patch on the side has no blue gold and red in it. I think your eyes must be playing tricks on you!

23. 5. Way to make light of a violent and deadly event that is currently going on in the world TMZ. Obama fully backed this election and its result, but he doesn't seem to have a problem with innocent people voicing their opinions to a false outcome getting slaughtered.

Way to continue to show your heartless, true colors Harvey

27. To all of you who seem to think the Obama administration isn't doing enough in this situation: here's part of an interview with Fareed Zakaria, a writer and foreign affairs analyst. He knows more about this stuff than you and I combined.

Question: But shouldn't we be more vocal in our support for the Iranian protesters?

Zakaria: I think a good historic analogy is President George H.W. Bush's cautious response to the cracks in the Soviet empire in 1989. Then, many neo-conservatives were livid with Bush for not loudly supporting those trying to topple the communist regimes in Eastern Europe. But Bush's concern was that the situation was fragile. Those regimes could easily crack down on the protestors and the Soviet Union could send in tanks. Handing the communists reasons to react forcefully would help no one, least of all the protesters. Bush's basic approach was correct and has been vindicated by history.

28. Unfortunately, this is NOT a Steelers jersey. As Vicky pointed out there are no gold and white stripes around the biceps and the three hypocycloid (the yellow, red and blue diamond) logo is missing on the left side of the chest. Thanks on behalf of all the Steelers fans for the shout-out.
