Manny Ramirez Stimulates Albuquerque

He's not even a shoe-in to play -- but the mere rumor that suspended L.A. Dodgers cheater Manny Ramirez will make his baseball comeback with a AAA team in New Mexico is already sending ticket sales "through the roof."

After the L.A. Times reported Manny would join the Albuquerque Isotopes line-up on Tuesday, a rep for the team told us phones began ringing off the hook for tickets and a line formed "around the block 30 minutes before the box-office opened its doors." FYI -- the rep told us the Dodgers haven't officially confirmed Manny's return.

Manny is currently serving a 50-game suspension after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug back in May -- and the reason the Dodgers would send him to the minor leagues would be to ease him back into form.

Meanwhile, the Manny-less Dodgers have the best record in baseball.

2. Manny is one of the most electrifying players of our generation. You can try and be mad at manny, arod, sosa, but the thing you have understand is 103 players in 2003 tested positive for steroids. Probably more, but got away with it. The fact of the matter is these players are getting slammed in the baseball community and media but they are only a few of many.

In terms of manny getting a lot of publicity in AAA - he has a huge fan base. He is fun to watch and draws a lot of attention and thats why he gets the big bucks.

4. I think his suspension is a little extreme, but if MLB is going to make an example of someone, might as well make it a big name player. Meanwhile, Barry Bonds has never been indited on anything....what a bunch of crap

7. chell - the difference is Barry Bonds has never TESTED positive. Sure he's done them, but has never tested positively.

Manny, on the other hand, is an idiot and based upon his IQ alone should not be allowed to play ball. Effing moron.

9. Manny is gonna play for the Inland Empire 66ers.Alot closer to L.A. than New Mexico....If minor leaguers get suspended for roids why does this clown get to play in minors before his suspension is over???

"positive"? yeh, the only positive here is the drug test. not only should he be expelled for life from all sports, but given 5000000000 hours of community service and ordered to pay back every cent he's ever made in sports. He then should donate his kidneys and live in a tent under the bridge where he can smoke all the crack he wants and never get a haircut.
