Ed McMahon Ed McMahon has passed away at 86.

He died at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in California this morning. McMahon was fighting a multitude of health problems, including cancer.

He is best known as Johnny Carson's sidekick on "The Tonight Show" and for his infamous catchphrase, "Heeeeeeeeeeere's Johnny!"

McMahon also hosted "Star Search" and "TV Bloopers And Practical Jokes" with Dick Clark.

wasted days and wasted nights

He was the quintessential yes-man side-kick and he set a good example for others in that role to follow. Everyone wants to be number one but not everyone can be. Ed was a great number two. He was loyal to Johnny, kept the spotlight on Johnny and was the consummate foil to Johnny. He was the town crier with the single most exciting line every night: "And now, heeeeeeeeerrrre's JOHNNY!"

Now, the crediors can go after his gold-digging, embezzling wife! The poor man was really taken to the cleaners by her. She took out loans on his property, then stashed the money. It is sad that this man had to worry about money in the last years of his life. Maybe he would have lived longer if he hadn't had the stress she caused.

Now sit back and watch the credit card companies, individual lawsuits, his 5 kids and that gold-digging wife all fight over whatever he has left.

He had something to offer on the tonight show even though he did hitch his wagon to Johhny's star.
I enjoyed his part of that show.

Since Johnny left, the tonight show has been less than worth watching.

Ed Mc Mahon was truly a piece of garbage! I know people who worked on one of his houses and Ed was very condensending and treated the people like crap! Today the world is a better day without him. It is amazing how far one can go by kissing somebody's but for years!
