Missing Guv Hooked Up With Lover in Argentina

The Republican Governor of South Carolina just confirmed everyone's suspicions -- he went missing for five days because he was not-so-secretly cheating on his wife.

Mark Sanford: Click to watch
Gov. Mark Sanford just admitted to jetting over to Argentina to hook up with a woman who was not his wife -- and said the affair started about a year ago.

He asked for forgiveness from pretty much everyone, including his wife and 4 kids. He's resigned as chairman of the Republican Governors Association but did not resign as Governor of South Carolina.

61. What the hell was he thinking!! Doesn't he know that only liberal Democrats who fund abortions are permitted to have affairs??

62. Republicans only do boys. Do we know if it was a woman? Why did he chose Father's Day weekend to humiliate his family?

63. Let's see, JFK, Robert Kennedy, Gary Hart, Elliot Spitzer, Bill Clinton, John Edwards, Gus Savage, Daniel Inouye, Barney Frank, Brock Adams, Gerry Studds, Mel Reynolds, Gary Condit, Kwame Kilpatrick, John Young, Wayne Hays, Fred Richmond, just off the top of my head.

None of them ever even owned up to their affairs until AFTER being caught. Some of which had sex with underage children. Dems are the scum of the earth

65. Listen, these guys have a lot of stress. They are dealing with the most important issues facing our country and they have to make decisions that affect everyone's lives. I think that they are allowed some margin of error. What is not OK is that some guy who all he has to do is take care of his own family and he goes out and has an affair. That is unacceptable.

66. This just goes to show, all politicians are trash. He was one of the leaders of the conservative movement, and now he does this? That like the LAST thing at TRUE conservative would do. I had so much respect for him, now its gone. I think we need to ship everyone in politics to and island, leave them, and start over. Both side SUCK. First John Edwards, now this for the Republicans... BOTH SIDES SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

67. When I heard one of his so-called aides likening him to Thoreau going out into the woods to think and write, I said to myself, "He's screwin someone." Seriously, how stupid do they think we are?

68. I KNEW IT!!! The first minute that this story broke, I said that he was cheating.
LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why do we think that because someone serves in public office that they are immune to being
cheaters (to the very families that supported them on the road to their office), drug addicts and full of corruptive business dealings. After all, they are representatives of the people are they not???

69. When new NY Gov. Paterson held the exact same type of press conference just a few months ago, I don't recall TMZ even mentioning it? Strange, no way TMZ is biased....

70. Jon Gosselin and Gov. Sanford could be room mates in New York.

Both of them can't speak...they just hesitate while their brains try to kick in....the other body part seems to be in control.

NO. Half of what you say is true. They are dealing with important issues that affect everyone's lives, so therefore they get NO MARGIN OF ERROR. You either do your job or you don't. If chasing p^ssy is that important then step down from what we elected you to do and go for it.

74. Can't blame um. Fly down to Argentina to get laid by some hottie (making an assumption here) and score some grade A blow--sounds like a great way to spend a Father's Day weekend. Ahh good times.

P.S. I know what you're tryin to do by putting 'Lover' in the headline...kinda funny if it was true.
