Corey Feldman -- Jackson Was My 'Idol'

Corey Feldman -- who was friends with Michael Jackson when he was a child -- just released the following statement on his website.

Michael Jackson & Corey Feldman
"I come to you today with great sadness, acknowledging the loss of the greatest entertainer in the history of mankind. For me he was more than that, he was my idol, he was a role model, he was someone to cry to when my childhood was unbearable, he was a brother, he was a dear friend."

"Unfortunately Michael and I had a falling out on Septenmber 10th 2001 and that broken friendship had never been repaired. I have stayed close with his family through the years. As a matter of fact my wife and I attended LaToyas birthday thrown by Janet 3 weeks ago on Susie's actual birthday. Michael was supposed to be there and we were supposed to try and talk things out. Michael didn't show because he was stuck in rehearsals for his upcoming tour.

I am trembling and shaking at the moment and it is very hard to type. I am filled with tremendous sadness and remorse. All I choose to remember from this point is the good times we shared and what an inspiration he was to me and the rest of the world. Nobody will ever be able to do what Michael Jackson has done in this industry, and he was so close to doing it all again. I am truly, and deeply sorry for all of the heartbroken fans and supporters worldwide. I think I am still in shock. So I must end this now.

As far as our concert on Saturday at Universal goes. I will not cancel this show it is a very positive first step in implementing a better standard for the touring world and music industry. As Michael taught me a long time ago......the show must go on. It will be a hard one to get through. But I will brave it and do the only thing I know how to do.........perform

32. I am past 60 yrs old and Micheal Jackson took me thru the MTV years my children and myself looked forward to seeing him at any time on tv because of his music and dancing it was unique and so different and made a person feel good.
I was sad to hear of his death today. I immediately thought of his Mother, Father, and Brothers and Sisters and his children I felt sad for all of them.
Micheal Jackson was a unigue artist in his own right. His music will be around for along time.
I am just one in a million or more person's who is sad for the family because of Micheal's sudden death.

35. It is sad that no matter what human life has been taken from this world that there are so many people have such hate in their hearts. When you say hateful things about a human being do you think about how it affects the families??? I pray for all of those who have so much hate in their hearts. God bless the families & friends of Michael Jackson & Farrah Fawcett.

36. I to was curious about when CF would release a statement about MJ passing. I do remember Corey's televised interview stating that he did believe MJ was guilty and all that.
Only those directly involved in the cases brought against MJ know the truth, not those of us who sat back and watched the story unfold.
It is not for me to judge and I won't. All I know is a great entertainer who set the bar very high for those who followed in his footsteps has passed. My prayers are with his children and family during this difficult time. RIP Michael Jackson

38. Shame Shame on you Feldman!! How dare you issue a statement calling him your idol when just a few years back you did a television interview completley TRASHING Michael. you threw him under the bus saying saying you wanted to testify in court about how he showed you pornography as a child and now you come out saying he was your idol. WTF dude. Your just trying to keep your name in the press. Corey Haim ROCKS...You SUCK!!! Anyhow, no matter what Michael did or didn't do he's in gods hands now. Hope he can rest in peace.

39. This death feels like the kid in high school that was so weird and creepy that you're not really shocked or surprised that he's dead. Especially the drugs part. Sure we all enjoyed his music at one time or another but his frightening lifestyle made it hard to "like" the guy. Didn't know him personally...guess I was never a big fan. I'm confused on the Corey thing too...does sound like he used his post to TMZ to promote...his molester is a role model? Weird!

41. WOW, he just used MJ's death to promote his own show. I guess I should not be surpeised, yet I am.

42. I thought Coreys statement was sincere...and my heart goes out to all those who mourn MJ's loss.
Especially since its unexpected & shocking news for celebs who really had honor of knowing MJ. The rest of the world (who never met him) could only imagine what it was like to meet Micheal "king of pop" Jackson believe whatever... Meanwhile Corey actually lives with the honor & privelidge of meeting a Musical Genius and he knows the truth...and it doesnt sound like he was a victim whats-so-ever..so Corey rock on....and may all you haters let Michael rest.

43. OMG Corey Feldman is THE BIGGEST douche bag in the history of douche bags. He is self serving, self obsessed, and totally deluded. He wasnt cool when he was a "troubled child actor" and he sure as hell isnt now.
I wouldnt have sent a Limo for you either mate...

45. Being a Godparent does not give Macauley Caulkin any legal rights to MJ's kids. That will be determined after months and months of custody hearings that will make the fight for Anna-Nicole's baby seem like a Book of the Month Club meeting. Unless, of course, MJ already designated custody.
