Danny Gans

16. Wow, does she even care about him? Absolutely not a shred of fear and being upset that's he's not breathing whatsoever. I feel like I am listening to a lesson on how to give CPR...not that someone is dying or dead. If it were my husband I would be freaking the F!@K out. What the heck? Are they sure that she's didn't help him OD?

17. People like comment 17 are so stupid..they want to blame the first one they can...Imagine this woman in the middle of the night seeing her husband not responding to the CPR...I would not yell..I would pay attention to what the 911 operator is saying and follow thru with the CPR...stoping judging her and go back to work, is because people like you judging others, without any respect the reason for this Country being in this mess.

20. I have been in emergency situations before also, and I always react the way Mrs. Gans did. I am always super calm, as if I am watching myself go through the motions. Very methodic and calm and while it is happening I always think to myself, why the heck am I being so calm. Afterwards, when I know I have done all I can I immediately start to shake uncontrollably.

21. This is terrible for the family. I had a reaction to a Norco prescription for backpain. Along with Morphine... I was given these drugs really without too much warning.I was not expecting to go from Vicodin es to that. Well, I took an over the counter medication for a stuffed nose and I had these severe breathing problem one night... it started out small ... like I couldn't breathe...All the way to a full blown panic\breathe thing ....I couldn't get back to my right mind, You really think thats it...its over every time you breathe... aww man it was bad... i went thru this for weeks off and on after the first reaction...I'm just back to normal ... this happend on May 6 2009... the Doctor told me that the Norco was bad... so quit that right there... and the other is going to be slowly weened off....
Don't take painkillers without really asking yourself.... Is it worth taking something that can take your life in a moment just so you can move a lil better each day? Is it worth it? to me.... NO it is NOT.
Thank the great spirit that my wife was there to watch over me... every minute,,, every day....
It's not worth taking time away from yourself and family>>> Please think about not taking high pain meds... or quitting all together. Good luck...
And my deepest Condolences to the Gans family... I'm sure he did not want this to happen , Not like this. just so you know... I'm taking my life more seriously because of what happened to your loved one.
My blessings... A.

22. I am in the death care industry (Mortuary) and I have seen thousands of bodies and spoken to family members at the scene/and or place of death. Usually, there is some emotion displayed either on the 911 call or after we arrive.Sometimes people are hysterical, sometimes they are moderately upset, visibly shaken. In this case there wasn't a hint of distress or emotion that emerged from the mouth of Danny's wife. Most likely, when they say he was "snoring" on the different times they say they checked on him, in reality he was probobly dying (also known as the "death rattle"). I am appalled at the way this case was handled and would bet anything this was no "accidental overdose". I am so tired of hearing that manner of death used for these "celebrities". Hopefully, the law enforcement has announced that the case is "closed" when in reality they are still investigating it and will learn that there was foul play involved. I also hope that Danny's family reads these posts and comes to their senses about this tragic event and come clean. Would be interesting to know the amount of inheritance that was divided between these people who did "CPR" while hesupposedly lay dead on the floor. How do we even know that his wife was actually performing the chest compressions? There is no question in my mind that he had been dead for HOURS before this 911 call was made. That being said, noticethe explanation by the crime scene investigator describing Danny's face being swollen and red. This takes hours to happen post mortem. I am not showing any disrespect to anyone, I am stating fact based on years of experience. God rest your soul, Danny Gans; and may God judge those who imposed any foul play.

25. Re: David's Post...YOU certainly make sense. These people describing how calm they remain during an emergency, like finding their loved one not breathing, are all insane! I never read what caused his death. Where do I find this info? Danny died and his wife had many...'GANS'! My God even his son was calm like he was helping to take a splinter out!

26. Man...sucks for Mr. Gans..... he's the loser in all this mess.

27. I also agree with David...In addition, what makes zero sense is the Crime Scene Report stating all of his meds had been reconciled and accounted for...if this was true then the "accidental overdose" ruling is a bunch of bs (which we all assume anyway). In other words, overdose, accidental or otherwise would mean the quantity of his (pain) meds gathered by the wife and counted by the Crime Scene Analyst would be lower than if he were taking them as prescribed. As stated, it was reported by the police that they were all accounted for in the investigation. Hmmmm....And, yea, the wife was waaaay too calm and collected. I, too, would have been yelling for my son, if anything, perhaps to try and jolt my husband out of his sleep. Clearly, I believe she probably knew he was gone prior to the 911 call and perhaps had to find a way to "top off" his hydromorphone (maybe with a hidden stash) so nothing looked out of place after she was asked to gather and present all of his meds. Then again, maybe I just watch too much SVU and CSI and need to get out more....

28. This 911 call was odd. Hmmm, so he accidentally O.D.ed on Dilaudid? How does one accidentally take more than prescribed? It is a great drug for pain, I took it when my pancreas was inflammed. I just don't see how a person could accidentally O.D. Did he have an allegy? Or was he taking this med long term? Just sad. The 911 call is disturbing as his wife was just too calm. R.I.P. Danny --- we will probably never know the truth.

29. I am glad I am not married to any of you people who say you would flip out. There is a time and a place for your own emotional response, and it is not while your husband is dying. Now is the time to be quiet and listen to instructions, not to be a drama queen and make it about you.And before you ask, YES.. I have had a 911 situation, with my 2 year old nephew, and I did fine. (and he is fine).

30. DEAR #29-BALL ISTIC:

HE WAS ALREADY DEAD. Thank God you aren't someone I would be counting on for support. Flipping out and losing control is one thing but making a 911 call and acting like you are getting a manicure is another. Yes, having to perform CPR needs someone in control. Having said that, you have to admit that the inital shock of finding your loved one unresponsive and (evidently) deceased would provoke a slight change in the callers voice and demeanor. Mrs . Gans never changed her tone it was monotone and matter of fact. There was no element of surprise or urgency in her voice. I hope that if you really have experienced such an incident that you will understand what I am saying.
