Elton John Sings for Michael Jackson

Elton John was in the middle of his annual "White Tie and Tiara Ball" when he was rocked by the news of Michael Jackson's death.

We're told Elton is singing right now at the event and he's dedicated his song "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" to Michael.

Liz Hurley, Hugh Grant, Lily Allen, and Kelly Osbourne were at the party -- however several of the guests left once they heard about the news.

31. EJ is not using this to get attention for himself. He was simply choosing to honor his friend. Yes, they were friends. Or perhaps some of you younger people forget that they came together to help Ryan White fight to go to school, even though he had AIDS. Ryan's headstone is paid for by both EJ and MJ. Elton may seem to "be there" when someone famous dies, but its because he is famous himself and has many friends in the industry and also on the humanitarian front.

EJ is a class act all around. Good for him for support his friend's family in a time like this with a beautiful song.

RIP Mr Jackson

32. i so sad about michael dying,,my family and the jackson family were close back then, we all studied together at the Jahova's witness kindom hall in Gary, IN. in the early 80's. i still have the most presious picture of me and michael and my 2 other friends standing and holding eachother with our arms accross eachother...i will never forget you.. i still remember when i first talk to him 4 yrs ago when i was living in Long Beach, and i stoped at his home which i gave him that copy of that picture of us when we were kids at that assembly,,and i what he was going through in his life at that time,,,i gave him a great line which i knew he used...and loved,,i told him that "HE WAS AT HIS BEST WHEN IT CAME TO HIS WORSE" and till that time,,he would always remember that...i love you Michael... your friend and always...may Jahova be with you as he says he will always be, let the light be bright in the gods eye of sight.... 33. Elton is an amazing man. Michael Jackson, sicko tho he was, contributed to music, influencing artists of all calibers. His music will be missed. It's a pity he didn't die in jail where he belongs.

34. The King of pop died, and instead of reading comments by moved or devastated people, I am reading comments that talk badly about Elton... You guys are unbelievable... Elton John is one of the greatest, and so was and still is Michael Jackson.

36. Same old Elton, never scared of cashing in on somebody else's death. And by the way, wasn't Michael Jackson a paedophile? Why all the tears? If Hitler had been a better artist would we have mourned his passing?

37. I'm sick of this dumb @ss, ...now he suddenly appears after someone dies.....this isn't the queen! What's next ...he'll need to write a song in tribute to Michael??...available only on the radio and at $16.99 on CD....

Tell me...who the F' goes and tell a perfomer who is giving a concert...BAD NEWS?

I'm smelling that this was staged......the staff is probably instructed to bring him new of anyones death while in concert so he can exploit it!

Did you help Michael before he died?

41. You f****wits who are putting bad comments should be ashamed and appalled of yourselves he wasnt convicted in his living so why convict him in death. You should look at yourself before judging someone that can no longer defend themself. I hope one day people make jokes about you after your death.

Froma fan of his music and of his charitability from australia.

45. The music was good in the 80's but the man was seriously f----d in the head to want to sleep with kids and then pay off their parents to keep his nasty habit secret. I wonder what they're going to find in his house! Not Guilty? Didn't he admit in an interview in his own words saying that he likes to sleep with kids? Okay make excuses for him with his sorry childhood stories, while you're at it forgive rapers and perverts doing time because of their childhoods too. I didn't want him to die but I'm not sorry to see him go.
