As a women I would think you would have a little more respect for the wife instead of defending what the slimy husband and his over stimulated sex drive did to his 4 SONS on of ALL weekends, Fathers Day. What a pathetic, uncaring moron this man is. Apparently, uyou are too.

They both knew what the outcome of this would be if it were discovered, and decided that rubbing together was worth all the pain tht would follow. 74. I cannot believe the judgemental people on here leaving their snippy comments. Most have zero knowledge of this situation yet they blather on.This man's only crime is falling in love with a woman while married. ( read their stolen emails. They are classy and heart breaking) . Its an adult situation that could have no happy ending. It does not make him a hypocrite or an idiot. It makes him a man with the capacity to love another human being more than himself which is more than you can say for the narcisist Obama. This love affair also does not mean he has no love for his family or wife.
Some facts:
1) Sanford met Maria 8 years ago. Fell in love with her two years ago.
2) Has seen her 3 times since the affair started
3) Told his wife upfront when he was sure of his feelings last December. (He could have hide and denied like Clinton and Edwards. )The Sanfords have since tried to reconcile their marriage. He was not with his boys on Fathers Day cause his wife had asked him to leave their home 3 weeks ago and not to communicate with the family until a certain date. Fathers Day fell in that timeline. It was an uniformed staffer that said he was hiking. Sanford never said he was hiking.
4) Being sincere in his feelings for this woman and out of respect for her, he did not cowardly break off the affair via email. He went down to Argentina like a man and looked her in the eye.
5) So far no knowledge of any illegal activities related to his political position have surfaced. He did not abandon the State of S.C. A select few knew of his whereabouts. His wife did not know cause he was told not to communicate with her for a period. He was outed by some slime that had hacked his personal emails and sent a reporter to Atlanta and another to Argentina.
6) The woman is highly intelligent, speaks 5 languages ,has a high paying position and probably makes more money than the Governor. SHE IS NOT LOOKING FOR A GREEN CARD. This was a true love affair not some tawdry under the desk cigar moment. They truely loved one another with no possibility of a future.

It is a sad occasion. Not that a good man can make a mistake of the heart but that this nation has so many cruel people willing to convict others without facts and without sympathy. We are becoming a more cynical people by the hour. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Shame on you all for being so callus.
