Justin Timberlake -- 'We Have Lost a Genius'

We just heard from Justin Timberlake, who tells us:

Justin Timberlake
I can't find the words right now to express how deeply sadden [sic] I am by Michael's passing. We have lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only Pop music, but of all music. He has been an inspiration to multiple generations and I will always cherish the moments I shared with him on stage and all of the things I learned about music from him and the time we spent together. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.

Timberlake has referred to Michael Jackson as his Idol in the past.

31. What will happen to those poor kids? Well, they will stop having to wear funny masks and hats, they won't be dangled from hotel balconies in the future, and maybe they'll even be able to change their names to something NORMAL.

32. I don't get it? Ya i grew up listening to him...But i also watched him say its ok for young boys to sleep in his bed... I wonder if any of these stars that are so grief stricken would have let there kids hang out with Micheal aka peter pan for a day alone or perhaps a sleepover....I think not. Please people so he could sing and dance.

35. I grew up with Michael's music. He was an icon. Yes, he was physically and mentally abused as a child. No wonder he couldn't fully trust adults. Most adults as we know are like the haters on these blogs. They're mean spirited, jealous, unkind and hateful. Martin Bashir for example was two faced and mean in parts of his interview. Michael was smart enough to have his own cameras taping and show Bashir for the dirt bag he was. Children for the most part are innocent and non judgemental. Michael never said no when he had to help a child and he helped so many sick and dying children. He asked for nothing in return. He wasn't perfect and people did take advantage of his innocence for money. Michael transcended racial barriers with his music . He wasn't convicted of anything and Child Protective Services could find no fault with him. There was more to this story than was told. I work with abused children and I'm female. I'm not a fan but an admirer of Michael's talent and kindness. We cannot judge people on rumor and innuendo. He did so much good for others for so many years. He was a great talent. R.I.P Michael. God bless.

36. My child's aunt, in her 40's and unmarried shared a bed with my 5 year old when he was at his grandmother's house and I was ticked off with her at the time. It was totally innocent of course and just my "dirty" mind. Perverts have ruined it for everyone now. Michael having a sleepover was just part of the child hood he never had.

37. l am in total agreement with Mightymad.
I have seen Michael since he was 5 years old. That boy did not have a childhood, and I have always felt sorry for him.
He was charge with molesting a child and was acquited, hear that ACQUITED. All those People really wanted was money. His money. He was an Icon, a musical ginues and a Legend. The world will mourn his death forever.
Michael, I know you are in Heaven now. Those people who falsely accused you are still here and you will not see them
anymore, because THEY will not go where you are.
I feel so sorry for his kids.
Good bye for now Michael. May you REST IN PEACE

38.

A TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL

There was something special about you from the very
first day;
“It was all in your eyes”, your mother would say;
You stole the hearts of many from the time you were five;
And by the time you were twenty four the whole world
knew you had arrived;

But something began to happen to you along the way;
For your life began to be about rehearsals and building
an image instead of just regular child’s play;
You will be known as the greatest controversial
entertainer of all time;
Along with your eccentric ways, loving heart and
child- like mind;

Your music transcended all races, economic status,
political affiliations and ages;
But none of that mattered when you hit the stage;
You will always be remembered for your electrifying
moonwalk and mesmerizing silver glove;
For you glided across the stage like an elegant dove;

May you finally find peace in your after life;
No more paparazzi, frenzies or controversy hype;
Good bye, so long—never, never;
For you, Michael will live on through your music,
your infectious smile and our hearts forever and ever!

41. Harvey - have your staff be ready for huge amounts of overtime - just wait until the nannies, housekeepers, gardeners et al come out of the woodwork.

To all you supporters out there - did you think that he was playing with a full deck ?
He was an abused social outcast and since he was the family cash cow, the family looked the other way to his behaviors

.

44. Well said, Justin. I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend/colleague/idol. Your kind words must mean a lot to his family. There will never be another Michael Jackson the King of Pop, but you continue to follow your own reign of Prince of Pop. Much love. God bless you
