"I am really shocked; as I'm sure the world is, to hear the news. I had the pleasure of working with Michael on 'Beat It' back in '83 -- one of my fondest memories in my career.
Michael will be missed and may he rest in peace."

Eddie Van who? who is Eddie Van Halen? is this another media whore coming out of the woodwork for facetime?
to 'who cares' --The reason people care and are coming out with their comments is because if you were born around the early 60's, we grew up with Michael. He WAS truly a unique and mega talented entertainer and singer. Obviously, he had severe and complex psychological problems which manifested itself in some very ugly outcomes. But, you have to open your mind and realize just because you read a few articles about the dark side of Michael, that he had an enormous impact on pop culture and set the bar for entertainment to a whole new level that many of us born around the 60s had never seen before. With this enormous fame came a severe price he paid in not being able to live even close to a normal life. If he was guilty of the child molestation charges brough against him, there is no excuse. The guy had no childhood that anyone could compare to normal, and his eccentricities that developed later in his life were a result of his unquestionable talent and popularity in pop culture. Read the statistics about his fame, and you will see calling him a pathetic loser with no talent is not an accurate statement. Walk a mile in his shoes, and let's see how you would emerge with the price he paid for his fame. Human beings are vulnerable and have responses to abnormal conditions that aren't always positive. May he rest in peace, and prayers to family and friends, especially his children.
Eddie, very classy comment. Eddie -You are the greatest of all times! Genuis is the word that best describes you! I love all VH songs. No matter who the lead singer was/is. If it had you and Alex, it was VH! I especially love the music with Sammy....the best of all times. Have the VH greatest DVD and wear it out daily. You are still a hottie too! ....Take care of yourself. And, perhaps get back with Sammy and tour....would love to see that! And, Michael J - RIP ---Loved Beat It...was listening to that on MTV this am....love the guitar solo :-) As a side note: It's nice when MTV actually plays music/music videos!!!
Britney Spears might miss a lot more 'X Factor' auditions ... because she can! Simon Cowell gave Brit damn near free reign in order to sign the pop star to that $15 million deal -- but is it backfiring? We'll tell you what peeps on the set are saying.Plus, Chris Jericho's…
