Diana Ross and Michael Jackson

"I can't stop crying, this is too sudden and shocking. I am unable to imagine this. My heart is hurting. I am in prayer for his kids and the family."

46. "Judge not lest you be judged." I find it so sad to read the comments of hatred and defamation. I ask 'why?' COuld it be jealousy and envy? There is NO question the world will miss the talent and abilities of Michael Jackson. He was simply spectacular. As an adult survivor of child abuse, MJ was destined to have emotional problems. His abuser was his father and his mother allowed it to happen. I suggest the aforementioned commentators should try dealing with that at age 50. It is a lifelong struggle. Second, I have an autograph from Miss Ross. In fact, I have autographs from all three original Supremes. At that moment, they were generous, engaging and lovely in appearance and attitude. Like MJ, Diana Ross, Mary WIlson and Florence Ballard had a major impact on US culture at a time when it was sorely needed. Now, more than forty years later, the pettiness is not necessary and serves no purpose. Neither do any good for anyone. I suggest that Michael Jackson will be remembered in the same company of creativity as Sammy Davis, Jr., Fred Astaire, Sophie Tucker, Donald O'Connor and so many other artists whose unique abilities made them comparable to no one. Further, while not dimishing their great talent and wonderful performances, the Supremes will be remembered in the books as historic figures who reached across racial barriers and helped bring Americans together. To dwell on superficial reports and idle gossip seems counter-productive. Whether one wants to admit it or not, these people, Jackson, Misses Ross, Wilson and Ballard are American heroes who personify the American Dream.

47. Best people

At the time that Michael died Miss Ross was very busy with preparations for her concerts in the Netherlands in October 16/17/2009.
She could not immediately comment.
Hotfoot is Miss Ross flew back to LA to the family of Michael to be.
It is and remains a terrible loss for us all.
Diana always said if someone something negative to say about Michael, come not by me.
They were very good friends.almost a son to Miss Ross and a brother for her children!!so I can understand how they feel now and that amidst its great preparation for her concerts in the Netherlands.

RIP .. dear dear beloved Michael Jackson,
we reminders him as a very talented hot sweet man.
We will miss him and Diana Ross, we wish her and everybody much strength in this very sad period.

Warmly regards,

The team of the Diana Ross Tribute Fansite,
Denise & Thomas

48. 1) Diana did not kill Florence Ballard; Florence was too full of jealousy and hurt and experienced health problems as a result. 2) Diana did not take credit for discovering the Jackson 5; it was bestowed on her to take this role as a "big name" introducing a potentially mega group to the world. 3) What is a successful group like the Supremes to do when one of its members continues for several months to act bizarre (ex. sticking out her stomach during a concert). I am saddened by Michael's passing; a true icon in our society.

49. Diana Ross is a phony witch! We were you for Michael when it came for intenvention time to help him why he was still alive? You of all people should know the pains of being a junkie!!!!

50. TMZ, you need to do some fact-checking. It is well-documented that it was record exec Suzanne de Passe who actually DISCOVERED the Jackson 5 and introduced them to Motown CEO Berry Gordy, who then signed them to his label. Their so-called discovery by Diana was actually dreamt up by Gordy, who thought it would be appealing PR for both his new act (the Jacksons) and Ross, who was just launching her solo career at the time. Apparently the PR really worked, because the urban legend that they were discovered by Diana has perpetuated to this day.

51. da Spookster wrote, "We were you for Michael when it came for intenvention time to help him why he was still alive?" What in heavens does that sentence mean?" Not to say that it is her responsibility, but how do we know that Diana did not try to intervene? There are many things that Diana has chosen to do to help people and organizations that has gone unrecognized (and maybe at her request). We sometimes find out about this through "investigative reporting" not through her publicist. For example, not many people know that Diana Ross did help out Florence Ballard's children financially through a trust fund. There is a point where all we can do to help someone is to pray for them and to pray for guidance as to what else we can do.

52. First off this is not about who made statements about Michael Jackson. Michael is an icon and should be remembered for his achievements and his legion of fans. He was perscecuted because people didn't understand him, and when people don't understand someone or something they tend to lash out at it. We can't always rely on others to tell us how a person is or was, but rely on our own perception, or get to know a person and not pass judgment. Judging is for God to do, not us. Diana sent her condolences and feels like a lot of us who has lost someone that we care so much for. Whether she discovered the Jackson Five or not, she still was a dear friend of Micheals and even though they may not have kept in contact over the years, he was and still is like family...Like someone said in the comments earlier that she killed Florence Ballard, she had nothing to do with the faite of anyone long term, but her intent to hurt Florence or anyone, that will be her cross to bear. RIP Michael.

55. i understand people concern of Diana Ross missing at the michael Jackson services, but know one has said nothing about 'Harpo's' own, Oprha not making a public, nor showing up at any of the events. If any one person talked about, it should be her!
