48. Lisa was born famous in 1968 and Michael became famous in 1968 or 69. Neither had what any of us would consider a normal childhood. Priscilla tried to insulate Lisa from the media, but Lisa was royalty from birth. She was there when Elvis passed away on August 16, 1977. She was 9 years old and saw her father on the floor of his bathroom not breathing. She is having to re-live that now in almost the same exact way with the passing of her second husband. She met Michael in the 70's when Elvis was able to arrange the meeting. They were close friends. She had two children from her first husband and she had to make a decision during her marriage to Michael whether or not she was going to be there to watch him self destruct. After their separation let's not forget that she rushed to his side in a New York hospital when he was sick from prescription drugs. Her blog is her way to let out the pain that she is having to re-live. I honor her for that. It is certain that similarities will be made between Elvis and Michael. Michael realized it. They both have accomplishments that are rare in the entertainment field. Was one better than the other? Who are we to pass that judgement. They came into their own in two different times. They were both worldwide superstars. They were both trapped by insecurities and they both died at a very premature time. I'm an Elvis fan. I'm 41 years old. I was well aware of Michael's fame. Watched his Thriller video in my high school English class when it was released in 1984. I was concerned when he suffered the Pepsi commercial tradgedy. My friend's dad did tile work on his Encino's home balcony and got me and my brother an autograph. I followed his career and enjoyed his music. All the while I've listened to Elvis' music almost daily and I continue to buy his records on the collector's label Follow That Dream. So what I'm trying to say is that there is room to appreciate both for the great talent that they were.

May God bless Lisa and help calm her grief and give her comfort. Our Heavenly Father has such a great seat to see a great choir of talent in Heaven. Let's be thankful for the time they spent here on Earth but realize that some day we will see them again. That will be a great day.

50. i agree one hundred percent with the comment that joe p made! michael jackson as well as elvis were both legends because what they gave to their fans, which was one hundred percent of themselves , they put their heart & soul into every song & every performance. i was lucky enough to see elvis in person, but never got to see michael which i wish i could have, but i have followed his career since he started, i am 49, so i feel as if i grew up with him.as far as lisa marie & michael i feel its nobodys business what their personal life was about. people seem to forget we all have our problems, it just happens they have theirs splashed all over the media, but please remember under all the lime light they, michael jackson, lisa maire & elvis are just like us, human!!! to michael jacksons family, my heart goes out to all of you, and to his children god bless. it is not going to be an easy road for his children. to the media please try to be kind, they are after all just children!!!! michael got beat up quit a bit while he was here with us let's try to show some respect now and let him rest in peace. and let his family & children grieve. and to michael jackson , you were never alone.

I can't believe some of the comments that I am reading.Some of them are just downright heartless.I liked MJ and his music and I am nine years older than he was.Elvis on the other hand was my MJ.I loved the man and his music.To this day I cry alot on August 16.The point is, they were only human and made mistakes just like we all have at one time or another.Who are we to pass judgement.We don't know what was in MJ heart.I don't believe that he did what people said he did.But It doesn't matter what I think.He has a higher power to to answer to now.I pray for his soul and for his family as they prepare to lay him to rest.I am sure he will be remembered just as Elvis has been for the next 32 yrs.and beyond...These two Legends will live on forever in our children and grand children and in my case, my great grandchildren....Rest In Peace MJ........

54. Since I saw the news flash on tv that Michael went into cardiac arrest and passed away, I kept watching the news for more information. I still didn’t believe right away what I heard at first and I found myself soon glued to the tv for more information and it hasn’t stopped.

Just when I had enough with Larry King, LA Coroner, don’t care what Nancy Grace had to say and all the great people in the musical world who had express there kind thoughts of Michael and his passing, I had come to my own realization and prayers to Michael, his children and family.

The one thing hit me the most was Lisa Marie. She lost her father due to drugs but more important, lost a husband she once was married to who had a premonition that he was going to die the same way.

What I’m trying to say is I feel for Lisa. 14 years ago a conversation she had with Michael about his premonition is now said and done. The King of Rock n Roll and the King of Pop are both gone and with JC.

Lisa Marie Presley you are a true princess who has suffered a great loss I can’t imagine your pain but I feel it with great sadness. I hope you find solace in your life.

55. The big thing, IS he really dead? all the conspiracy theories about Elvis, this is MJs excellent chance to get out of his tour that he couldn't do. Its been said in many places how he was always late to rehersals and not doing so hot, lethargic and no up to MJ standards. The man has gotten old and out of shape with no touring in more then 10 years, but he signed on, and realized it can't happen, so what better way? Die off, raise the star once again, all the bad will be forgotten, and he can live in seclusion like he wants, and make megabucks all over again with all the sales and fame brought by his "death"

I think he'll quietly return to europe, his kids will disappear from the family he will go on secluded like a hermit until he really does die of old age. There just isn't enough public grief from his family for this to be real.

(just like his once late father-in-law.)Didn't Anna Nicole also predict that she'd end up dying like Marilyn Monroe? 60. I think you're absolutely right, Ifhehadnot! Michael was forced to make himself white by the same Hollywood Mafia that made up the false accusations about little boys, and paid the cops to persakute Him. It's as plane as the nose on His face!
