You can't compare MJ to Elivs, the Beatles, Sinatra. MTV, the 24 hour news cycle, and the internet were around when those acts were at their peak. I am not even sure the personal Walkman (personal music player) was around. If Michael had not had 'those' allegations made against him I would say he was the biggest ever....

35. where to begin...

i have been a fan for over 30 years. While this is very tragic, it is not unexpected. For he last 15 years, I have felt Michael to be a very unusual man. I do believe he was guilty of the charges. However, I also believe he was the greatest performer i have ever seen. And trust me, I have seen about all of them. Simply fantastic.

So with his passing, I have mixed emotions. I believe we lost a top notch entertainer, but we also lost a monster.

R.I.P> Michael, wherever you may be.

39. Does anyone remember the emotional and physical abuse accusations against Michael's father? This man has done a lot of harm to his children. Is it any wonder why some of them are so messed up? I think the police need to start with JOE JACKSON in regards to the investigation into his son's death. I can only speculate what Michael's mother has endured the past 50 years. God be with her and the rest of his family at this sad sad time.

40. I believe that Michael deserves now and more than ever to be embraced. People out there are trying to understand him, his actions and "transformations"but who has not tried everything to change themselves? How many women out there with plastic surgeries? Men having sex change surgeries? Tatooes? Pierciengs? And how many of us have not tried to forget a hurtful past that hunts us till the day we die. And most of all have ordinary lives, he was on the spotlight since the age of 5! At that age, kids are playful and innocent not working "slaves"
Does the world understand the legacy he leaves? The mark in HIStory? The messages he sent? How he fought for Earth, for kids, animals and nature? The moments he chilled us with the music and the magic of the Dance!!!!!
Even as a quiet man as they say he was, out with us, when he faced his fans, he always had a smile for us! When I have a hard day, everybody can see!
To not feel loved, to not feel cared for or even accepted can destroy you and he still managed to give us the best show

We should never ever be so hard judging people. Also remember, what goes areound, comes around and you will be judged as blindly and coldly as you do others. God knows how people will remeember you.

45. I can't believe how quickly people forget?! I believe this is a perfect example of the irony in American culture. Today the masses praise the name and accomplishments of Michael Jackson as if he were a great historical figure of humanity, however, if it came down to having the opportunity to have this same man baby sit their child these same people would decline in an instant. Why? Because Michael Jackson was a child molester! The world bore witness to the photos, interviews and affidavits, seeing for themselves the inarguable evidence of such atrocities committed. Any person who could victimize a child to such a heinous degree deserves nothing less than an eternity of suffering and not the admiration now given to this man who is nothing more than pedophile, convicted or not. As the double standards of our society continue to become more obvious further compromise is inevitable. Yesterday, the masses sent a clear message to the children of the world “you can victimize our most precious treasures without fear of true accountability so long as you are able to carry a high note, write enough catchy phrases or dazzle millions with a few interlocking movements of hands and feet. Today is a sad day, but only because it is a day that has compromised right and wrong for culture and entertainment. Today is a day that victims of child molestation across the globe received a clear and overwhelming message “musical accomplishment is more important than the victimization of innocence”.
