Jackson Allegedly Racked Up Huge Rx Bills

Michael Jackson RX billsOn the subject of Michael Jackson taking too many prescription drugs...

We went back to our files and found a 2007 lawsuit against Jackson for allegedly not paying a pharmacy bill -- grand total: $101,926.66.

Mickey Fine Pharmacy in Beverly Hills sued Jackson, claiming he agreed to "pay the purchase price of any prescription medications filled."

The case was dismissed a month after it was filed -- that typically means there was a settlement.

197. Right on Tracy! it amazes me people are shocked by this, as Michaael has been crying out for help for sometime and was ignored. He didn't become an addict overnight, and yes..where was the family in all this? It requires intervention and TOUGH love to be of any help to someone in need. Ignoring the problem, denial will always lead to the tragedy of this magnitude.

198. It seems to me the police need to investigate Mickey Fine Pharmacy. If any one has this much prescriptions the pharmacy has a duty to contact the feds so they can determine whether these were legit prescriptions. The family of Michael Jackson might look into suing this pharmacy for neglect.

199. Where was the DEA in all this? I know locally that many pharmacies are investigated if a large amount of narcotics are prescribed. There are records kept. These are top scheduled addictive drugs. Many doctors have been proscuted after investigation for writing bad prescriptions for people. And this was a high profile case with a tremendous amount of narcotics. It would not be hard to prove and prosecute this case. Why did this never come to light with the DEA?

201. It's a sad commentary on the rock 'n' roll lifestyle that another talented person has joined the likes of John Entwistle, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Keith Moon, and all the others who have died young or destroyed their lives due to the abuse of drugs, alcohol, or both. Whatever the cause -- loneliness, too much money, the influence of nefarious associates, hubris, the pressure of living in a glass house, the pressure to perform, or possibly early psychological damage that made them pursue fame -- the bottom line is that they numbed or jump-started themselves artificially and paid a terrible price. I heard recently that 1/3 of Americans are affected by alcohol abuse. Add drugs to that and the effect on health, wealth, and happiness is staggering. There is no shortcut to inner peace.

209. I think his doctors should have paid those pharmacy bills, not Michael. They were the ones that pushed and got him those illegal drugs and then charged them to his name so they couldn't be traced back to them? Don't doctors have to put a name on the prescription? If these drugs were illegal and Michael wasn't supposed to have them in a home setting, the doctors that got them illegally would have to pay, wouldn't they?
