Michael Jackson's Doc Quit Medical Practice

We just got a letter that Michael Jackson's doctor sent to his patients 11 days ago, announcing that he will be indefinitely leaving his medical practice.

Dr. Conrad Murray
sent the note on his letterhead from his medical practice in Las Vegas. He says, "I am deeply saddened to leave you at this point, but please know my absence is not permanent." He continues, "In my absence, I will continue to manage the practice, and be involved as much as possible but from a distance."

The letter says "My absence is not permanent."

We're told AEG -- the company that was putting on the London concerts -- put Dr. Murray on the payroll.

31. Not very bright. Here is a CARDIOLOGIST hired by a CONCERT PROMOTER who has hundreds of millions of dollars at stake to privately treat and travel with an individual known for physical problems and a long history of sever drug abuse AND HE DOESN'T HAVE A DEFIBRILATOR AT HIS DISPOSAL DESPITE THIS AND THE FACT THEY'RE NOT ALL THAT EXPENSIVE. Even that douchebag Cheney has one. But not this cardiologist. If he had, he certainly would have used it instead of CPR. Michael's death was going to happen anyway since Michael himself put the gears in drive long ago through poor personal decisions, including the drug abuse. But I'm sure everybody wanted him alive as long as possible with the upcoming tour especially. Possibly if a defibrilator had been used Michael would now be in a rehab facility for an EXTENDED period of time today and none of those poorly planned concerts would have happened anyway. Either way, they're not happening but he might have had a chance to figure out a better life plan that didn't involve performing or being a drug user.

32. To the people who are complaining that TMZ is only reporting Michael Jackson news. Are you stupid? The whole world is reporting this. His death is untimely and suspicious. TMZ is the first to break all these new details and you want them to STOP doing their job? If you don't like it stop coming to this website and turn off your tv and radio also because this is all people will be talking about for weeks until everything is exposed.

35. Demerol is a synthetic painkiller and is often described as being 10-20 times stronger than morphine. It is typically given via an IV. It must not be used when the patient has recently consumed alcohol. Either the doctor put too much in, or Michael had been drinking before the drug was administered. The toxicology report will tell for sure. In either case the doctor screwed up, especially in the manner he administered CPR.

37. AEG wanted insurance.....a completion/performance bond. For that to be issued by an insurance company they needed Michael to pass medical testing and then constant testing and supervision of Michael. So, they hired this doctor.
AEG wanted Michael to be able to perform. Insurance company wanted Michael to be able to perform. And, Michael wanted to perform. But nobody seemed to care about all the medication he needed to continue to take just to function, never mind perform.
End result......Michael continues to medicate himself, dies, and doctor runs for the hills (to his lawyer, somewhere).

38. 17. Do you have proof he was a pedophile? Innocent until proven guilty and he was never found guilty. Why can't people stop being so narrow minded. You only know what you read or heard in the media. The only person that has the right to judge Michael is god. I'm sure if your life was in the spotlight 24/7 you would look like an angel.

40. Even is this doc coudn't save MJ when he collapsed, he should have made sure that Jackson wasn't taking any drugs that could lead to it in the first place. Either way this doctor is a loser, but most important of all accomplice in murder!

This Dr was an enabler. Check it out, at one part Micheal Jackson literally sings: "Demerol Demerol Oh God he's taking demerol Demerol Demerol Oh God he's taking demerol"

45. #22 -- I suspect he was on contractual retainer by the concert promoters that hired him. The tour was to last about a year, so the doctor would resume his practice after that. I doubt he will have a practice to go back to after this.

His patients should be breathing a sigh of relief.
