Paul McCartney: MJ Was a Talented 'Boy Man'

Paul McCartneyPaul McCartney, who warred with Michael Jackson when he bought up the rights to the Beatles catalog, released the following statement:

"I feel privileged to have hung out and worked with Michael. He was a massively talented boy man with a gentle soul. His music will be remembered forever and my memories of our time together will be happy ones."

61. When you are met with a tragedy like the sudden death of MJ things may be said that you mean one way and others see it another. Let is go! MJ had a tormented life. Yes, he was a talent that will not come again in a very long time but I can not help but feel that he is now in a better place. Maybe he can enjoy the childhood he never had and craved so much.

62. God Bless the meek for they shall inherit the earth! Michael Jackson has suffered so much throughout his life, he managed to survive this long, I am convinced that his music will last as long as this planet at least! Do not judge anyone lest you shall be judged! If you have never been molested or otherwise abused, pray that it never happens to you or anyone else that you love or care about. Nobody knows what happens to those who have been hurt in these manners. I have, and believe me I would never wish it on anybody. Abuse carries throughout my life and I am now 60 years old. The pain, shame, and innocence kills your spirit more than you know! I admire Michael because he survived, Sometimes one must create their own world to be able to face life even in the daily tasks such as getting out of bed, or taking a bath or even ones' teeth. I was an infant when the abuse began, still in diapers. As I got older, my Mom would make lunch for me to take to school, I would throw it away, believing I was not worthy to eat it. At only 8 years old I prayed every night that I would die. Michael Jacksons' music was meaningful in the lives of my two oldest children, and I enjoyed it as well. He made me smile, some of his music made me cry, but all music can make me cry, because I am a girl/woman. Paul Mc Cartney , I know what you are saying. Your music helped me survive the 60's through now, God Bless you and MJ too.

63. Paul probably used an odd choice of words "boy man", but he either meant that he was a talented boy AND man, which he was, OR he meant that he was a boy trapped in a man's body, which was also VERY also true. This comment definitely does not deserve criticism from you crazy MJ fanatics.

65. Yeah, I think Paul's reference to boyman was just his way of thinking of Jacko as a kid. When Macca worked with him, Jackson was still in his early to mid 20's so I think Paul was amazed at the talent, but still thought of him as a kid. Remember, Paul and others old enough may remember MJ as the youngest of the J5. Don't read too much into this, PM just has trouble with words sometimes. Remember all the flack he took for his statements after Lennon died. Thank god he has something great to say when George Harrison. GH was a death that was seen coming, but this, like Lennon was a bit of a shock for him and many others. Let him be with his comments and try to feel with him..

66. The boy-man commment doesn't necessarily have to be negetive. MJ always represented the child in everyone. And Paul was probably able to speak kindly on Michael because he recognized the loss of a human life. He wouldn't hold a war of songs over someone's head, even in death. And in Michael's will, he left all the songs TO Paul.

It was a very nice thing, in the end.

67. to be called a "boy man " is like being called "Peter Pan" something that Michael always referred to, it is someone who ages but always remains a child at heart, I can't believe that this has to be explained to numerous people who have posted here , get an education

71. 'boyman' is the perfect description for Michael Jackson. He never had a real childhood, so when he grew up he tried to make one with Neverland with rides and animals, having young boys come and stay at his house, doing 'young' type things. Paul was exactly right.

72. I don’t buy that boy-man theory.
Michael Jackson was more like a very talent gal trapped in a man’s body. Endofstory.
