Jackson's Kids: 'We Want to Stay with Grandma'

6/27/2009 1:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Sources close to the Jackson family tell us Michael Jackson's three children -- Michael Joseph, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine and Prince "Blanket" Michael II -- say they want to stay with their grandparents, specifically Katherine.

michael jackson Katherine Jackson

Sources say MJ's kids will continue to live with Katherine Jackson at the family's Encino home. We're told the family is 100 percent behind this -- feeling that Katherine and Joe Jackson are the only people who can help the children understand who their father was, help them grieve, and teach them to deal with life in the spotlight.

We're also told the kids are healthy but, as expected, they "miss their daddy." They have no relationship with Debbie Rowe, who is the biological mother of Michael and Paris.

All of this will be critical to the case if, as expected, Rowe fights for custody.

If they're not going to give the children to the mother (which I think they should since she is the only parent they have now and she seems to have not given up her rights to them) then they should give them to one of the brothers (I'm instantly thinking Tito, since he actually did manage to raise three normal children). Katherine and Joe are far too old (no offence meant) to take on three young and active children. Not to mention that almost every single Jackson sibling has accused Joe of child abuse (if it was only one kid, I'd think it was BS, but there's too much smoke for there to be no fire) and he's openly admitted to being homophobic, showing his hostility to anything or anyone he doesn't consider normal. For the love of God, DO NOT GIVE THOSE CHILDREN TO THE GRANDPARENTS. Although I suspect that Michael may have actually made provisions for that, given how Joe treated him. What kind of parent would ever allow the tiniest posibility to sneak in of their children having a childhood as horrible as the one Michael and his siblings suffered? I don't see him leaving custody to his mother because of this. I'm seeing a huge fight for the oldest two beckoning and I hope for their sakes they go back to their mum. As for little Blanket....he seems to be a little in limbo....I don't see Debbie getting him, unless they want to keep the kids together and she gets custody of Prince and Paris, or it comes out that Michael used Debbie's egg. This will be interesting for some time yet.

Jackson's image as a father was tainted throughout the late 1980s through the mid 1990s in which the media reported stories told by some of his children that Jackson was abusive towards his children. When he managed his family, he ordered each of them to call him "Joseph", which led to several siblings being estranged from their father.

In 2003, in an interview for BBC TV, Joseph admitted to using physical punishment on his children and also voiced his disapproval of homosexuality.[2]

Michael Jackson claimed that from a young age he was physically and emotionally abused by his father, enduring incessant rehearsals, whippings and name-calling, but also contends that his father was a strict disciplinarian that played a large part of his success.[3][4] In one altercation — later recalled by Marlon Jackson - Joseph held Michael upside down by one leg and "pummeled him over and over again with his hand, hitting him on his back and buttocks."[5] Joseph would also trip up or push his male children into walls. One night while Michael was asleep, Joseph climbed into his room through the bedroom window. Wearing a fright mask, he entered the room screaming and shouting. Joseph said he wanted to teach his children not to leave the window open when they went to sleep. For years afterward, Michael suffered nightmares about being kidnapped from his bedroom.

Michael first spoke openly about his childhood abuse in a 1993 interview with Oprah Winfrey. He said that during his childhood he often cried from loneliness and would sometimes get sick or start to vomit upon seeing his father.[6][7][8][9] In Michael's other high profile interview, Living with Michael Jackson (2003), the singer covered his face with his hand and began crying when talking about his childhood abuse.[5] Jackson recalled that Joseph sat in a chair with a belt in his hand as he and his siblings rehearsed and that "if you didn't do it the right way, he would tear you up, really get you."[10]

I know this is not what MJ wanted

This guy has no right to raise a child....

Candygirl,

Educate yourself before claiming to know what your talking about. Pedophilia is caused by a combination of factors, including biological/chemical problems in the body. There's no choice involved. Study and learn before you open your mouth. Michael is no Monster. None of us will ever be able to state factually 100% that he even molested anyone. We knows its possible, maybe even probable. That doesn't mean its a 100 certain fact. The man was tormented and if he did molest children, I don't think he wanted to do it. Sick, out of control maybe. A monstor? no way..your showing your ignorance.

Give Katherine and Joe Jackson some respect! Not only because they
have lost their child but as grandparents! There are many
grandparents...not in the spotlight and of modest means that have to
and want to take on the responsibility of caring for their
grandchildren when the parent dies. Those children need as much love
for as along as she can give it from the woman that loved Michael first!
WHAT IS TOO OLD ANYWAY? Look at your own parents and/or grandparents
and tell them they are TOO OLD!

If Michael sooooo loathed his father, probably with good reason, does it make sense that his children then grow up in *that* house? What an ironic twist:((

janet should take them, and allow the older 2 reasonable visitation with their mom. Eventually, they might want to live with their real mom but it should be their choice.

The kids belong with MJ parents/family.
Yes-we all know he is NOT the biological father-they're white as can be. But, he and he alone was their one and only parent, regardless of who's uterus was used. The 2 mothers, while they may have not given up their parental rights, sold the children to him.

Let them stay with the only family they've ever known!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My choices:

1) Madonna (as someone else suggested earlier)
2) New show on TLC: Jon and Kate (separately) plus 11
3) Angelina and Brad
4) Joint custody: Angelina/Brad and Jennifer Aniston
5) Unsupervised at Neverland, and let's see what happens...

I don't think Michael would want the kids living with his father or anyone in his family. MJ's parents are too old to take care of 3 kids.
Debbie Rowe would only take them for the money. Poor Kids, their life has changed for ever.

I agree with others who have said the kids should not be placed with their grandparents, and neither should they go to Debbie Rowe. I think one of Michael's other siblings should take the kids in and try to give them as normal an upbringing as possible (if it is even possible)
