Michael Jackson CPR Mystery Unfolds

As an RN specializing in emergency medicine for the last 20 years, I've seen a LOT of heart attack victims, and I should say that a strong percentage of those who had help at the onset (a family member/friend, performing cpr), knew to lay the patient down on the floor, a table, something firm. I found it incredulous to hear that the doctor allegedly performed CPR with Michael on the bed. If that is the case, it would be the same as not performing CPR at all, as it was of no effect, because of the soft surface.

Someone else said that Michael should have had a nurse, and though it might sound "funny" to some, it it nonetheless true. In a hospital setting for instance, it is not the doctor who performs cpr, but the nursing staff. You can find the doctors usually in the corner or at the foot of the bed, barking orders. Nurses must re-train and certify every few years, in (among other things) CPR and basic life saving skills. Doctors? No.

32. I am maybe not so confused! Unidentified 911 caller? Doctor MIA? Could they be together? Why did a cardiologist not have the injection medicine to reverse these affects if it is indeed do to a Demerol shot? How do we know MJ was given an injection at 11:30 a.m.? 45 minutes prior to the 911 tape? Why are the LAPD saying they know where this doctor is but the family has NO answers? Whio`s telling what?

34. First of all he's on the bed. Anyone who is medically trained knows for CPR to be effective it need to be done on a hard surface. How else are you going to compress the chest? Anything else is simply bouncing the patient up and down on the bed.

The doctor is the only witness. When Michael's assistant/ aid is instructed by the dispatcher to ask the doctor if he saw what happened, the aid does so, but comes back flustered and nervous, clearly avoiding answering the question. Can't anyone clean up the noise and pick up what the doctor was saying/ what was going on in the background?

If this guy is a doctor and a cardiologist besides, did he not know to call 911 immediately when Michael's heart started slowing down? Even if it was a false alarm, call for the ambulance. In any case, he gave Michael an injection of what he knows to be a drug with potentially dangerous side-effects minutes earlier, and thus without hesitation should have called the emergency services immediately.

This doctor seems to have made a catalogue of disastrous and fatal mistakes.

I believe the doctor found him when it was already too late, as I said in another post I was an EMT for years, and when I heard the Paramedics wanted to "Call" him at the scene, basically he was already gone. The first thing to happen is a person stops breathing, the heart continues to pump for a very short time. Had he been found at the onset of respritory failure, he could have been saved, there are also drugs to counter act drug overdose if that is suspected. I believe Michael was already gone when he was found, and the doctor if he gave him an injection at 11:30 am as has been reported, He knew what the cause was and was scared because of course he would be blamed. So That is my view of it as I have seen many stages of drug overdose, from onset to death. Thanks

TMZ you guys were on this story from the jump and you stood by your facts even when "other" news outlets were saying that you guys jumped the gun, also you guys are covering this story with professionalism and grace and for that you have a forever fan in me. Thank You Mr Levin and staff..... As for Michael Jackson's family I am sorry for your loss and may you find strength in these trying times.

37. Days before his death MJ was ok..he was dancing,singin,joking...his dancers said that he didn t looked like ill.I think this looser doctor killed him...just think about...the doc didnt know that MJs got to be on the floor...the dispatcherhad to tell him,to put MJ on the floor...

41. I have a couple of problems with what has been released so far.

First the Dr. performing CPR on the bed instead of on a hard surface. That is CPR 101. Also, why wasn't there an AED? They also teach you how to use those in CPR class & I know that MJ could afford one.

The next thing that bothers me is the whole demorol issue. If this dr. had been giving this to MJ over any period of time, why did the dr. not have Narcan on hand in case of an accidental overdose? That's what a responsible dr would do.

And finally, if MJ died of cardiac arrest, the coroner would've seen heart damage in the autopsy. But instead of hearing about heart damage, we heard that they needed to wait for the other test results to come in. There's more info known by the coroner then what's being said.

44. #30, yes thats exactly what happened with Anna. And the 911 operator said the samething "put the person on the floor", in both cases they where in the bed because the person in the room with them knew they where alread DEAD!

Your absolutely the biggest moron to ever post on TMZ. Your argument is so full of silly contrived facts and your incredible lack of education and intelligence shines a bright as the sun. All of his friends had confirmed he was severly addicted to prescription pain killers. He has not performed for years. His family is highly disfunctional and lives like paracites off of Michael. His father severly abused his kids both mentally and physically while his Jehovah Witness mother turned a blind eye. He was dead when the 911 call was made. Police are following proper procedures. No cover up. The doctor is scared as he most likely administed the final drug that stopped his heart.

A tragic ending to a tragic figure in American music history. He will be remembered as a great performer, a highly excentric person and a child molester. This is the legacy HE CREATED FOR HIMSELF. He lived and died on his own terms - now you need to accept that and move on with your life.
