The best tributes to Michael where the stations (MTV, VH1 Classic.. that's all I saw) playing his videos all weekend. It's pretty sad, though, that it takes the death of a great artist for MTV to go back to what it was meant for!!! I loved watching Thriller over and over again. For some reason, it took watching his dancing in Smooth Criminal Sunday night to get me bawling!!! I can now saw I know how generations before felt about the death of Elvis. Michael Jackson MADE my generation!!!

I'm about SICK of all the negative comments about Michael Jackson and BET's tribute to him!!! To ANY AND EVERYBODY that is being negative - go and do it better!!! To sit on your asses and all you can say is negative things only proves you just as messed up as you claim Mr. Jackson was...and HE WASN'T!!! He was a genius and just because he wasn't like your miserable sad asses sitting around doing NOTHING but being negative...at least he was man enough to at least try and not be like you complaining sorry ass @#$# - If you can complain about what's wrong MAN OR WOMAN UP and come up with a solution.

I watch the whole bet award show, it started out great, but as time went on it got boring. The question that I have is "Where were some of the Motown Family that was there when Michael started singing. When was Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson, The Four Tops and even Quincy Jones. Couldn't any of them find time to come and say a few words? They could have even got on stage and sang a few of Michael's songs, That would have really made it a great show.

BET SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!! AS AN AFRICAN AMERICAN I AM APPALLED BY THE REVERSE RACISM AND THE TERRIBLE LANGUAGE AND TACKY PERFORMANCES!!! THEN, TO HAVE UNDERAGED GIRLS ON STAGE WHILE RAPPING ABOUT HAVING SEX WITH EVERY GIRL IN THE WORLD? DISGUSTING!!!!! ALSO, SOME MAY DISAGREE, BUT I THINK MOST FOLKS WERE EXPECTING AN OPENING WITH CHRIS BROWN. I agree with Fawn 100%. I too watched a lot of his clips this weekend on VH1classics and was mesmerized by his moves, his singing, everything! He was a genius and nobody can take that away from him. I grew up listening to his music and watching his videos this past weekend, especially 'smooth criminal' brought back so many memories! If you watch 'smooth criminal' you will notice that every move, every step is flawless. Its perfection! He was truly unique and I blame what happened to him in his last few years on his 'dad' if you can call him that. Is a father someone who is your father biologically or someone who provides you with love and support you need growing up?!Michael himself in interviews has stated that as a kid he was SCARED of Joe, he would vomit and faint at his presence. His own 'father' teased him about his nose, about having acne, his weight..etc how can THAT not scar and traumatize you for life?!And about the BET awards, shameful! I expected so much better and it was sooooooo disappointing to watch; hopefully the grammys can top that.
