Anyone with a lick of sense realizes the economy WAS not nearly as bad as the liberal media made it out to be during Bush's last remaining months in office. Economies run in cycles, but the housing mess created by Barney Frank (who should be in jail on child molestation charges along with his former male prostitute bf) and Chris Dodd are solely responsible for. HE even has a Hollywood relations working in the White House? When was the last time Hollywood was significant in running the country? This is the most closed off, secretive administration ever. If Bush had been an 1/8 this stand-offish the media would have gone nuts demanding he resign ASAP!!!

74. Did he write a note to Ed McMahon's family, or Farrah Fawcett's family, or Bea Arthur, or David Carradine. Will he to Billy Mays family? Is it only black performers that Obama cares about? What about non-celebrities who die early? Will they get a Presidential note? Why not?

Obama didn't want to anger the black community by not making a statement, but he also knows it is inappropriate to make a statement because it is not the President's place to decide who in pop culture merits acknowledgment, and also because of Michael Jackson's behavior.

With everything going on in the world, this should not have occupied one precious moment of the President's day to consider what to do, or to ultimately compose a note.

Bad move Obama. Typical politician's move.
