Jackson Doctor's CPR Technique Explained

Now we know why Dr. Conrad Murray administered CPR on Michael Jackson's bed, even though it's routinely performed on a hard surface -- it was a "firm bed."

Murray's lawyer, Edward Chernoff, was on "GMA" this morning defending his client's actions after finding Michael unconscious in his bedroom.

17. As a CPR Instructor Trainer for the past 17 years, I have found that a lot of Doctors do not get CPR certified every year or two and some do not take CPR at all. I have been following this story and it just does not dome together for me. Again, the bed situation comes up, a trained person in CPR would have immediately gotten him on the floor. Maybe the doc should present his certification card as when he took CPR the last time. Also, I heard on the news that he now says he put one hand behind MJ back and did the compressions. Lots of unexplained occurances.

19. Ok it might be a firm bed but the floor is harder than a 'firm bed'

20. Is this doctor serious. As you listen to the lawyer speak, this CPR and all went on for twenty five minutes. Don't you think after a few minutes that there is serious problems, 911 should have been called. No they wait until he is dead and make the call. This doctor is 100% to blame...

21. First of all, chest compressions are not done on somebody with a pulse.....you only do that to restart the heart....you perform mouth to mouth to get somebody breathing again

22. I have my CPR certification and the fact that he had one hand on MJ's back and the other on the chest tells me he did it TOTALLY WRONG. You are supposed to perform the chest compressions with BOTH HANDS, NOT ONE!

And since he said MJ had a faint heart beat, he should have pumped air in him, not give him chest compressions.

Jackson's family is right to investigate this.

23. Could each poster please state whether they are CPR certified or not. Seems we have more "expert" opinions here that question a board-certified cardiologist that was there than we need. If you are not CPR-certified, please do not post your stupid opinions.

24. So, let me get this straight. MJ is sleeping in his bedroom. A cardiologist, unknown to his family, just happens to be walking through his bedroom while MJ is sleeping and just happens to notice that MJ is not breathing? What an incredible coincidence that this guy just happened to be walking through another man's bedroom while he was sleeping and just so happened, pray tell, to be a cardiologist, what an amazing seredipitous coincidence.

Who in their right mind is buying this?

25. That is NOT a Good explanation!!

I still would like to know why there was NOT a defribillator in Michael Jackson's home????
Most people know that narcotic pain killers inhibit the respiration system especially Doctors!

Forget the rumours etc. there is enough here to wonder WTF!!

28. 10. PRAISE Michael and COMDEMN the doctor - GOD have mercy on us all because this world is full of fools - - - the doctor should track each on of you posting defamation comments and file suits against you all. America is in trouble, big trouble.

30. Yet, look at it this way. If MJ's body was truly in the condition the coroner's report says it was, then it was mush from years of abuse. The doctor may have had to do it on the bed. Otherwise, it'd be like trying to give CPR to a wet noodle.
