Michael Jackson's Last Art Purchase

Michael Jackson bought some pretty expensive art two weeks before he died.

MIchael Jackson Art

On June 11, Jackson purchased a picture of the Wicked Witch of the West, a painting called "The Donut Queen," and a painting called "Play Ball." The artist for all three works was Nelson De La Nuez. Jackson plunked down $13,000 for the three items, which were delivered to his home on June 15.

We're told Jackson was "obsessed" with the Wicked Witch painting.

Here's the weirdest part. Someone from AEG handled the money side of the transaction. We have the bank wire -- AEG dealt directly with the art seller.

17. Michael Jackson has made more of an impact on this world then any of you flametards will ever make, he is a true legend in pop-culture and deserves his place in history & all the attention he is getting.

I agree, it's terrible that people are dying in darfur & other places every day, but that does't make his death any less tragic.
On top of that, he was never convicted! We will never know whether he was a peadophile, but that doesn't change all the great things he's done for music. He also holds many many records for donating large sums of money to a ton of charities, so stop pretending like he is the devil incarnated.

19. ACTUALLY THAT IS NOT A BAD PRICE FOR THE ART. AT OUR LOCAL ART GALLERY HERE IN THE MIDWEST FOR A LOCAL ARTISAN YOU 600 TO 1200 FOR A PIECE OF ART. THAT WOULD HAVE MADE EACH PIECE APPROXIMATELY 4000 A PIECE. I TOOK CARE OF A LADY WHO HAD ART WORK IN HER HOUSE THAT WAS 10,000 AND HIGHER. WHICH SHE HAD PICASSO ORIGINALS TOO, BUT MY POINT BEING IF YOUR AN ART COLLEVTOR 4000 IS NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION. MY FAVORITE ARTIST TO ADMIRE THE SKILL OF PAINTING IS DALI, I COULDNT HANG MOST OF HIS EITHER SO I JUST STICK TO MONET AND MANET IN THE MIDWEST ITS MORE SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE.

22. seriously? i think i'm going to have to agree with the posts above.. enough is enough TMZ. I'm not about to start draggin his personal life into anything, but people die. His contributions to the music industry were celebrated consistently throughout his life, despite the accusations against him. Let this one go already!

23. TMZ thanks for adding bits of stuff like wire transfer details.

Oh, those fools who scammed MJ of his billions.

They are going to serve their fate. Not as slick as they thought.

MJ is having the last laugh at them, all of them that murdered him.

MJ RIP and you will receive the gift of justice.

29. Wow all this blogging fo days about a musician.,Could you imagine if God forbid Bono passed away, or McArtney, with all their humanitarian work and good will? If the internet were around when Elvis died the interneet would jam up too. i think it is such a big story because he was still young and this came out of nowhere.

30. The art was probably for his dressing room for the upcoming tour. That's possibly why the promoter bought the stuff instead of Michael
