Neverland Reps: Watch Out, Santa Barbara

The part owners of Neverland Ranch have released a letter to the residents of Santa Barbara, warning of the impending madness that will engulf the county if a public viewing of MJ's body occurs later this week.

The letter -- sent by a rep for Colony Capital, LLC -- calls Neverland a "temporary sanctuary" for Michael Jackson fans who "will come, with or without permission or an invitation."

The doc also addresses Neverland's dark past by saying, "As we all know, the impressions left by Michael's last interaction with Santa Barbara County were not positive." But it goes on to say, "Michael was accused, tried and acquitted in our county and found innocent on all counts."

Jackson posthumous music sales outstrip Elvis and John Lennon!!!!!!!

HMV today claimed that sales of Michael Jackson's music have outstripped the demand for material by Elvis Presley and John Lennon following their untimely deaths.
Simon Fox, the chief executive of HMV, said that sales of Michael Jackson albums have multiplied by 80 times, totalling 40,000 units, since the singer's death last Thursday. He estimates that across the UK, 125,000 albums by Jackson have been sold since last week.
The music retailer, which had stocked up on albums by the King of Pop in anticipation of his 50 farewell performances at the O2, sold out of CDs on Saturday and is currently re-stocking from Sony.
During his lifetime, Jackson sold over 750 million records and Mr Fox today claimed that the recent surge in demand for CDs surpassed that following Presley's death in 1977 and Lennon's assassination in 1980.

17. I once helped to take some children there from Children's Hospital in Los Angeles and the road to the ranch is small, not made for a lot of traffic. I have the feeling people are going to spend a lot of time on that road waiting to inch forward.

18. FIRST OFF, SANTA BARBARA shouldnt have an issue with the, bringing michael to neverland ranch. Any and everybody should respect and honor the Jackson Family as what to do with their family member. IF I HAD THE MONEY I WOULD GO TO BE A PART OF HISTORY. im so pissed about these claims that he is still alive, i had to tell this lady to stop talking to me because she sounded like a dumb ass.

20. He was found not guilty at the trial. that doesn't mean he didn't do it. We kNOW OJ was found not guilty too. The kid had some less than honorable parents who had defrauded others. So the Jury had 'reasonable doubt'. In those circumstances they're not going to send a CELEBRITY to jail. He did pay off the first kid; to me that admits guilt more than anything. He didn't want a trial. Sit around and defend him all you want, but if that was your next door neighbor instead of a celebrity, you'd be calling the police complaining that you're afraid for your kids.

25. exactly#9!!!!!
#5 MJ only paid the ppl off because his attorney advised him that the case could possibly be held up in the courts for up to 7 years and Michael didnt want to have to deal with the case possibly dragging on for 7 years. On the advice of his counsel, he settled out of court. The parents wanted money and got what they wanted....thats all they cared about.

27. Jackson post sales.......
When John Lennon and Elvis Presley died, there were only records or tapes in stores. With todays technology, computer downloads, etc. it is much easier to acquire music. Plus today we have news stories 24/7 over the television and internet. It was a different world then.

28. Yowsers... I would love to attend.. but can you say "madhouse"?
Everyone in SoCal.. stay OFF of US 101 later this week.. it'll be worse than usual!!

It would be nice if its broadcast, like many other high profile, public funeral services are.

On another note, if Michael said he never wanted to return, its sad that his wishes aren't being listened to.
I just hope that they're able to return it the way it was.. the way Michael wanted it.
And to those saying admission will be charged, I can't imagine they'd charge admission to attend a funeral.
BUT once they turn this into Graceland, by all means will admission be charged. You pay for Graceland right?
