Random Drawing for MJ Memorial Tickets

Michael Jackson Memorial Tickets Michael Jackson's memorial service will be held at two separate venues on Tuesday morning -- the main event will be at the Staples Center and a simulcast will play at the Nokia Theatre.

A lottery has been set up for fans to obtain the free tickets -- and they can sign up for the random drawing on the Staples Center website ... good luck logging on.

17,500 tickets are available for the event -- 11,000 for Staples and 6,500 for Nokia -- which will be divvied out 2 per person. If you are one of the 8,750 people selected, you will then be alerted on Sunday with further instructions.

Oh yeah ... only U.S. residents can apply.

Also, the family wouldn't say if Michael's body would be at the memorial.

215. I tried logging on as soon as the announcement was made on Friday and got booted out of the site. It could not handle all the demands and must have crashed. Also they should have given 1 ticket per person....why should someone make money on an event such as this when the family donated the tickets.....I'm sad I was not chosen to participate

216. From all indications, MJ will get a send off typical of the Acholis in Northern Uganda. In Acholi when a person of ripe old age passes away or when a middle aged person who has made a significant contribution to the community lives the world prematuredly we congregate for the funeral dance. For the elders we sign dance and celebrate while for one like MJ we sign dance but also mourn. Different clans that are connected to the deceased by descent congregate with their drums, dancers and the arena is filled with everyone singing and dancing to the throbbing drums, the sound of calabash rubbed by a very skillful artist against the wood echos to the rythm and the entire village gets abalzed. You can hear the sound of a funeral dance far far away and you can get gripped . The life of an achiever is always remembered and as an Acholi I will certainly join all other mourners to celebrate MJ! Farewell King of Pops. Your dance strokes and musiv live on....
