Top Prosecutors Hunting for Jackson Rx

Michael JacksonCalifornia State Attorney General Jerry Brown has launched an investigation into the prescribing practices of Michael Jackson's doctors.

Brown says his office will help the LAPD track the controlled substances that made their way to Jackson. The State's Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement will be combing files. It's the same method Brown used to track prescriptions in the Anna Nicole Smith case.

As we first reported, Jackson used various aliases to score drugs, including Omar Arnold and Jack London. We've learned at least one high-end pharmacy in the area where Jackson lived did its own search and has turned up the name Omar Arnold in its database.

17. Some doctors are no better than "back alley" drug dealers. That's where the money is. This goes on more than you think it does. Oh sure, they set up an office, see patients, etc, but prescribing drugs to wealthy people is where the real money is made.

18. Janey, comment 5, show some respect for the dead. Michael Jackson was a complex person he was found not guilty of all charges against him. Janey, please keep your perverse and twisted views to yourself because quite frankly, no-one else wants to read them.

The prescribing doctors must be traced and should be prosecuted with contributory manslaughter at the very least.

19. Gee, that is wonderful. They launch investigations when a celebrity messes up and OD's on prescription drugs. They go after the dr's at that point and drag their name through the media. Where are these headhunters when ordinary, everyday people become addicted to prescription meds, find a quack dr, and mess their life up from addiction? Where is the mass hunt then to prove these dr's as fraudulant asshats and ban them from practicing medicine again???

21. To #1 Ashlee, I could not agree more. I am so sick of the MJ story and it is not a simple matter of just pushing the "x" spot. It is everywhere. I mean is there anything more important than him? Yes a whole damn world's worth of news. Jackson had a world of talent and with all his money could have gotten himself the right kind of mental help he obviously needed. He chose to mutilate his body, molest children and grab his genitals in the name of entertainment. I am also sick of the excuse "he didn't have a childhood". Rather than put him to rest quietly it all comes down to a media circus honoring the "King of Clowns". Sorry but there were and are many black acts that were and are more talented than he and his brothers ever could be...the Temtations, the 4 Tops just to name a few..the Miracles, Earth, Wind and Fire. Jackson turned himself and those poor 3 kids into a freak show. Enough is enough.

22. No one should be surprised on the drug use, I'm sure if we look back on when things "started to go strange" with Michael Jackson, most would be associated with a brain altering drug. Look at Anna Nicole Smith, alot of the same behaviors, weired, funky comments, etc... Medical Doctors are the biggest LEGAL drug dealers out there. And most celebrities don't think they have a problem if they are getting a prescription for it, instead of walking the street trying to find a hit for the next time. Sad, but true, Elvis & Michael are not alone, usually takes someone to die before its investigated.

23. Furthermore, isnt it ironic that if you are a rich celeb you can get meds delivered with no name in the patient block, but if you are a struggling lower class or middle class American who is busting their arse daily to keep a roof over head, you can often times not afford insurance. Even with insurance the prices for certain medications will leave you choosing between paying rent or buying the medication your children need when they fall ill.

God bless America huh?

25. Janey is a backwoods redneck obese shutin who needs to get off the computer and get an education. The man was found not-guilty and the accuser were known to just want to 'steal' Michaels money. If you hate Michael as much as it would appear, do not read the stories about him on TMZ. Go exercise or brush your tooth.

28. I wonder too: Shouldn't pharmacists be held accountable if it's determined that they are filling prescriptions with no patient names or performing any other suspicious activity? I work in the medical field and I believe pharmacists are supposed to report to authorities anything suspicious. I've had it happen a couple times over the years when patients were fraudulently obtaining narcotics from pharmacies. The pharmacist reported it and the authorities followed up with our office.

29. it's eay to dig into Michael Jackson for his drug use, but look around your neighborhood, it's there, and everyone knows someone that has a drug problem, it's just his is amplified because he's in the spotlight. Everyone has demons that they fight inside, and no one will know what his were, but it's far easier to judge him looking at him, but not having a clue what he's going thru inside, and that's where drugs "help numb" those demons, Maybe before really judging Michael take the time an watch Intervention on Monday Nights, then maybe you might have some sort of idea of how bad the drug use really is.
