Jackson's Chosen Few Play Beat the Clock

Michael JacksonThe deadline to pick up Michael Jackson memorial tickets is causing a frenzy, because some of the ticket holders -- especially those who live out of state -- can't make it to the ticket counter by the 6PM deadline.

Right now, anyone who was selected to attend must present the voucher for their tickets by 6PM at Dodger Stadium.

An AEG spokesman tells us they've been receiving complaints and are now considering pushing the deadline.

Stay tuned...

16. For those of you that think Rowe was only a surrogate mother, look at these photos of her with her children: http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/showbiz/michael_jackson/390944/The-astonishing-Michael-Jackson-family-pictures-that-could-blow-custody-battle-apart.html

17. #8 EXACTLY! - I won tickets. When I registered I thought I'd have at least a couple days to make travel arrangements. I wasn't going to book a flight knowing the odds of getting tickets were so slim. I found out I won the tickets at 9pm last night. I'm in Michigan so there was NO WAY I could book a flight & fly out this morning!

#5 You are a moron...

18. What did they expect? Some people were not going to buy flight tickets until they were sure they could go. And then to say that they have to present their vouchers by 6:00PM? That's just plain nuts! Come on! Who was the brilliant guy who thought this scheme up in the first place? You have to be completely insane to think that this would be OK and that people could come from all over the United States and the World and make it to that deadline. Flights to schedule, never mind getting through traffic and standing in line to get there. There has to be a better way!

19. What a MESS! My ex is required to work at this event tomorrow (law enforcement). I have a feeling he'll be coming home late and in a VERY bad mood. Watching it on television is just fine by me!

20. STAMPEDE!!!!!! It's a mad mad mad mad world. Anyone with half a brain would be racing to Dodgers stadium right now. Obviously thousands of tickets will go unclaimed. So, the promoters will re-release them first come first serve. I say head over to Dodgers stadium and let them know you are right here!

21. Classic, they should have had this at a outdoor venue where tickets wouldn't be needed.. But then hey they don't care about Michaels fans anymore then Michael did.

22. This is very disappointing. The family should have had a 2 day public viewing and then privately buried Michael. We didn't need a damn concert, we wanted a public viewing to pay our respects. This is so contrary to what Michael always said about his fans, this would have saved the family time and headaches while grieving but at the same time I think it would have provided some joy in seeing just how much Michael was loved.

23. It sickens me to see how his funneral is being put on as if it was a show. The family needs time to grieve.

24. # 10, regards certain states not being able to enter, this falls under the guidelines if a contest, under that some states have very specific rules about how and what a resident of that state can enter, ie CA residents can not enter a contest sponsored by a beer company. You need to check your states rules on entering a contest

25. btw... To all the morons complaining that seats/tickets won't be used... Tickets are being given away to the Memorial itself at Staples Center & also for the building next door to watch it on a huge tv. They are simply going to give away the unclaimed Staples tickets to people who would otherwise have had to watch from next door! Duh...

26. I got my email telling me I was not invited. This really sucks! I am going to watch very closley to see "what" kind of people received the tickets. I believe your zip code had to be 90210!lol

27. It will be sad if most of the ticket holder were from out of state and never make it to deadline. This means the staples center will be more than half empty. This was such a bad way of giving out tickets.

28. I agree with #22. The perfect solution would have been a public viewing held at Neverland for 2 or even 3 days where fans could file past and pay their respects. It's been done that way in the past with others and seemed to work very well. Then the family could have had a nice private burial without the clamoring of crazed fans. I don't think parading his body across the country like they did with James brown would have worked or even been appropriate, but the Neverland option would have been great. Security could have been controlled much easier as there is one way in and on way out. Not having to close blocks of the city off. If I had a business within that district, I would be PISSED!

29. ok remember his body wont be there theres no persession who whould want to see a body without a brain his brain was taken out for testing he will be buried without it its a memorial not a funeral do you think they would want millions of idiots when they are trying to bury him.i say idiots because someone would sure go and try to do something to his casket but like i said would you wanna see a loved one without them being whole come on people WAKE UP hes not going to be there by any means

30. I just got my email (in spam ) stating I was not invited too! Looks like it will be a first come first serve thing after 6pm... I am not in CA - so was going to give the code to a friend ..... Those in LA should head over to the dispersment site. You know that they will be given out one way or another. I would if I was local and had the time.

Best of luck to all of you that want to go and get a second chance. I dont think they really want any empty seats for the world to see,
