Diana Ross -- I'll Be There for MJ's Kids

Diana RossThough she was not at the memorial service today, Diana Ross, who Micheal requested look after his kids in his will if his mother was unable to, released the following statement:

"I am trying to find closure, I want you to know that even though I am not there at the Staples Center. I am there in my heart. I have decided to pause and be silent. This feels right for me. Michael was a personal love of mine, a treasured part of my world, part of the fabric of my life in a way that I can't seem to find words to express. Michael wanted me to be there for his children, and I will be there if they ever they need me. I hope, today brings closure for all those who loved him. Thank you Katherine and Joe for sharing your son with the world and with me. I send my love and condolences to the Jackson family."

31. I don't think it matters if she was at the staples center, she said she would take care of his kids if they need her.
That is more important than missing the show at the staples center. The family knows she
loved Michael and he must have admired the way she was with kids she seemed to have
done a good job with her own.

32. Diana Ross can choose to mourn Michael in any way she chooses; she was a friend, mentor and inspiration for Michael.
Afterall-she did introduce the Jackson 5 to their audience -check out the wording of their first album. She didn't have to prove her love for him at a public sideshow that today turned out to be. Anybody wonder why any of Michael's closest friends-besides Brooke Shields didn't attend- they didn't owe "the public" anything- their condolences have been expressed privaately-as they should be to the Jackson family. It is called respect and class -something sorely missing in the hangers-on and others who have been waxing poetic for the last 10 days.
For those of you hating on Miss Ross- get your facts correct- she had an alcohol problem and is in recovery-
not something unique; she has an amazing record raising her children-all accomplished and she WAS there to raise them as she often flew home from cocerts to be there for them whenever they needed her. She is a legend and unlike the 1 hit wonders of the American Idol generation- has had a sustained career for over 40 years.

33. I think that they were lovers in the past, but Diana didn't want to be in serious relationship with Michael(maybe because of the age difference, and she loved to flirt with men and stuff). I think that she loved him though, but not in the way that he loved her. He saw his mother, friend and lover in her, he even admitted that he was jealous and a bit angry when she was getting married to another guy. I think it's one of the reasons why any of MJ's relationships did not last. She was always the number 1 for him. Diana treated him like son or best friend (I think that they had sex in the past though, I just feel that they did it, MJ always looked at her with "hungry eyes", the chemistry between them was fantastic).
Anyway, if she couldn't handle it, it's better that she stayed home, but if I was on her place I would go there for his children, no matter how heartbroken, I would be the one who they could count on in hardest times.
But I'm not judgeing her.

34. No dont buy it.
somethings up
Ms Ross would never miss such a huge PR opportunity, in fact no old has been would turn down this global stage opportunity, id say that both her and Ms Taylor wouldnt have been able to get their faces fixed with the botox and their bald old heads fitted with new wigs at such short notice. Big gigs like this, the oscars etc, allow these waxwork freaks at least 12 months notice to sober up and look half alive, expecting them to do it in 5 days is a tall order.

Aint no mountain high enough hey Diana, well clearly was this time that kept you from him

35. TMZ readers are the most hipocritical group of people I have encountered. It appears you all look for anything negative. You must have some said lives. Now if Ms. Ross would have attended the memorial, all of you would have dogged her out talking about "how dare she". This is not for her. The first time the camera showed her you would have thought she was there for publicity. Can't she hurt too? You are doing the same to her that you did to Michael...you waited until he died before you talked about how great he was. Get a life people...remember, opinions are just like assholes, and all TMZ readers are opinionated....or is it assholenated....whatever...

38. They thought is was going to be a messed, instead it was a very beautiful and touching memorial. Now they all are sitting back wishing they were there. See Michael had fake friends.

40. NO EXCUSE, DIANA

41. Diana should have been there. I wondered why she wasn't...now I know. Because it wasn't about her. She says she will always be there for his children but she couldn't be there for them on the hardest day of their life? I don't buy it. You go to a funeral to support and care for those left behind, to show that their loved one meant something to people. That was just wrong on so many levels. I have went to funerals of friends/family that I didn't have a present relationship with due to a falling out or something stupid like that but I still went...because it is the right thing to do. We only live once people...take a few minutes out of your day to show your respect.

43. Not just Diana with a no show, what about Liz, Liza, and Debbie could have paid her respect for "the kids". She's not making her case look good.
