Diana Ross -- I'll Be There for MJ's Kids

Diana RossThough she was not at the memorial service today, Diana Ross, who Micheal requested look after his kids in his will if his mother was unable to, released the following statement:

"I am trying to find closure, I want you to know that even though I am not there at the Staples Center. I am there in my heart. I have decided to pause and be silent. This feels right for me. Michael was a personal love of mine, a treasured part of my world, part of the fabric of my life in a way that I can't seem to find words to express. Michael wanted me to be there for his children, and I will be there if they ever they need me. I hope, today brings closure for all those who loved him. Thank you Katherine and Joe for sharing your son with the world and with me. I send my love and condolences to the Jackson family."

46. he really looked up to Diana Ross and he really loved her. They had such a nice friendship and you can tell. their videos are posted on youtube. It brings a lot of emotions when you watch it because he was an awesome, charitable, selfless guy. He loved kids just the way the Jesus loved kids and no one can ever take that away. I still can't believe he is gone, but i know he is in a better place and that is all that matters. He will truly be missed and may God continue to bless his family and kids.
R.I.P. MICHAEL JACKSON AND THANK YOU FOR HAVING SUCH A GREAT IMPACT ON ALL OF US. YOU ARE TRULY MISSED.!!! ;(

47. Diana Ross might have fallen apart at that service. None of us really know what she might be going through. I think they had a relationship. If you read Michael Jackson's autobiography, Moonwalk, it's obvious he was in love with Diana. He didn't like the fact that she was marrying a man he'd never met, admitted to being jealous, and said he had to walk around pretending to be overwhelmed that she was getting married. One of his biographers said MJ was heartbroken and refused to attend her wedding. Forget the 15 year age difference, sometimes it is actually just a number. MJ and Diana had something, some chemistry, but I don't believe she returned romantic feelings for him. Even though she was the love of his life. He said he would always love her, always. Go to youtube and type in both of their names and watch their videos and interactions, etc. A picture is a thousand words. My point is...we don't know if Diana Ross was at home this morning thinking that maybe she should've married this man and had some kids. Her other marriage didn't really work out anyway. Now, her most faithful loyal friend is gone. Those things must be going through her mind. They'd go through mine.

48. Words cannot sufficiently express my deep sadness at the sudden passing of this wonderful man, whose music touched billions across the world. His contribution to the world was simply immense, and everything he did, both inside and outside music, was characterised by a great compassion for humanity: truly a man whose life made a difference. We shall not see his like again, and my thoughts are with his family and friends You wrote the soundtrack to our lives and we will always remember the time -> long lived the king.love you soooo much you're truely missed...Mia

49. I wonder where Lisa Marie was? I was disappointed that Diana Ross, nor Elizabeth did not attend the funeral. Even his immediate family was there - and kept their composure for the most part. But, I guess we all must choose our own path. Disappointed to say the least.

50. i find it deplorable that the "haters" are out in force on this one. since when did it become law for everyone to be at someone's funeral? you know, everyone DOES grieve in his or her own way, and funerals are for the living.

if one (or more!) of the "livings" chooses not to attend the funeral, that's his or her right. who are you to judge?

also, um, maybe she couldn't get a ticket. just sayin'.

51. i see many different opinions, some i ignore, some i feel exactly the same.
but i think we all are jealous of how those two had shared...
because we will never know what it was like, how gracious , sweet, mysterious it was that i want to imagine between him and diana.
it seems so special... and what i can participate of his work will be to tell his story and beautiful music to next generations...
yea we all are jealous...

52. What is it that Michael Jackson supposedly did to Diana Ross, to screw her over? She, herself, is no stranger to giving people the shaft. She did it to the other members of the Supremes. She's probably back in rehab or too drunk to walk.

54. Lisa Marie wasn't there because she is a liar, in that she and Priscilla schemed to come up with a way to get enough money to make Graceland solvent and become a money producer. When Lisa Marie married Michael the Graceland property had fallen into a state of disrepair, and the money for repairs was not there. Lisa Marie did not stay with Michael, but made public appearances with him on occasion. Her children were not there and were not allowed to be around Michael, therefore, most of her time was spent away. The marriage cost Michael so much that his finances never recovered. Many believed the marriage was Michael's attempt to regain status, however, whatever it was it didn't work and the additional debt from the divorce settlement with Lisa Marie prevented him from ever being solvent again. He was scammed by Lisa Marie and Priscilla, who looks like one of the Adam's Family, big time.

55. Hey blkshepherd before you went off, why don't you check your facts! Gladys Knight was there, she was interviewed by Billy Bush after the ceremony.

56. Some of you people on here are just plain rude, stupid and delusional. First, Diana Ross has been a wonderful mother to her 5 wonderful children. Second, everyone has the right to mourn they way they chooses and if she felt her presence would be a disruption, then she made the right choice. Third, if Michael would have suggested Britney Spears as guardian, you all would be cheering for joy and saying what a wonderful choice that is and how she is so fit to raise his kids. Last, your racist and wrong comments about Diana Ross can never negate the fact that she raised all 5 of her children to be positive and productive citizens. Can you all say the same? I doubt it!!!!!

58. IF YOU NEED ME CALL ME, NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE, NO MATTER HOW FAR, AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH, NO VALLEY LOW ENOUGH, TO KEEP ME FROM YOU, BOY, JUST CALL MY NAME I;LL BE THERE..."

I can never hear Diana sing this classic song again without thinking that she should have been there for Michael. I thought at first it was out of grief, but she actually doesn't want any part of this circus. These stars are so self absorbed and find it difficult to give tribute to anyone besides themselves. Many of the stars didn't show at the memorial because they may have been offended by the family's decision to not give them a spotlight role. Diana, Liz, Liza all want to be centerstage and if they don't get that type of gig, hey, "I'm to distraught to go to your affair"

59. I love Diana, but I believe she should've been there. But I also think she should find peace anyway she could and it's not up to us how she should do it. And people, the "DRUNK" thing, it's getting a little old... so shut the f*ck up!!!

Anyways, like Michael, good or bad, they both will get ridiculed by the public and the press... These haters will never know what these truly talented entertainers mean in their lives until they are gone...
