L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is asking fans of Michael Jackson to kick in and offset the $4 million it will cost the city to cover the city's costs associated with the funeral and memorial.

Well, maybe his fans should kick down some money--they seem to be quite stupid enough. If I had a memorial for my family member, I would have to pay for that---so again why should everyone else pay for his? Who lame idea was it to have a public memorial anyways? Whos going to pay for all the damage after this circus? Oh, maybe they will just raise our taxes to help fund this bull****!!!

I am sure all the thousands of fans, are buying hot dogs and sodas in your city- so you will have extra revenue for this event. Charge the businesses who will profit form this the extra dollars through taxes.

The JACKSON FAMILY elected to have a Public Memorial .. so they + THE MEDIA should pay for ALL of it along with anyone promoting this Mickey Mouse spectacle..The TV-RADIO and Website media making millions of dollars from advertisers on this? 26. If the mayor didn't divulge the whereabouts of the private ceremony, they wouldn't have had to hire so much security for the funeral - it's the mayor's own stupidity
Plus, I agree with everyone who reminds that the city will be raking in tourist bucks, they should just shut the hell up!

28. Millions of fans are not even allowed to pay MJ their final respect and are blocked away. If the city ask for help from those people, the city should have made it possible by putting up screens outside of the Staple center and not block them away from it all.
There are MJ fans who have traveled around the word for his sake and now have to see the event on TV at their hotel instead of being at or nearby the event. Everybody knew before planning the memorial that MJ would draw millions of people and just to make it possible for 20 000 to attend and block away the others is SO WRONG.
