The Circus Is in Town for MJ's Memorial

No really, the actual circus is in town.

The Circus Is in Town for MJ's Memorial
Like Michael Jackson's memorial couldn't get any crazier -- Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey continued an L.A. tradition this morning by parading their elephants through downtown ... to the Staples Center.

11 elephants, seven horses, tigers, zebras, ponies and dogs are being stowed in a back lot behind Staples for a five-day Ringling event this week.

33. Dear God....

The circus has NOTHING to do with the Michael Jackson Memorial..... other than that the Ringling Brothers/Barnum & Bailey Circus was already booked to perform at the Staples Center today, until AEG bumped it to make room for MJ.

As soon as the MJ thing is over and cleared out of the building.... the Circus will set up for their string of shows....

38. As much as Michael loved animals, I think this was very awesome that someone thought to do this for him. I want to thank everyone that thought to do this for him.

39. To those who are talking about Animal Abuse/ Cruelty, um...... did we all forget how MJ was starving his animals at Neverland, because he could afford to feed them???? And these agencies had to go to court to get permission to go in and take these animals, so they didn't starve to death... Hello, if you can't feed your Animals do the right thing and give them to the proper authorities? These agencies wanted to help him, but he wouldn’t allow it… I’m not saying that the Circus is any better but, MJ did not do right by his animals.

41. The only thing missing is the parade of young boys!

BTW, most of you seem to think this has something to do with MJ and it doesn't! The Circus was coming to town before he died and they have to keep moving so they are taking the animals just as planned and staging them.

42. Ironically, the Ringling Brothers is currently in serious legal jeopardy becauae of the very questionable way they treat their elephants. I think Jackson would have great sympathy for the elephants' plight. On the other hand, he had his own private "zoo" at Neverland where he kept imprisoned wild animals, but who are now, I believe, all in animal sanctuaries, where they presumably have more space and a more conducive environment to live out their lives.

43. Ok, for those who dont research before the blab....The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus was scheduled to be intown at the staples center for the show. They did not bring them in JUST for MJ's service. The service just happend to be at the staples center the same time the circus was in town so they are NOT parrading these elephants in memory of MJ. And yes, this is part of their exercise getting the elephants off the train into the venue.

44. This is aweful!! The circus rips baby elephants away from their mothers and forces them into a life of pain, humiliation, and loneliness. Animals used in the circus are beaten with bullhooks, whipped, and shocked with electric prods to force them to perform physically painful and confusing tricks. Animals are denied the fulfillment of all their natural instincts. This outdated circus with its routine animal abuse should not be welcome in Los Angeles. Not even for MJ's memorial. Ban Ringling Bros.!!!
