Dammit California!!!! Change the law already. Stop allowing spousal support to be paid to those having done nothing more than marrying a successful person. If you cannot not prove that you were a substantial component in the success of your spouse, your should be barred from making a claim for spousal support. I'm talking a situation where you worked to put your spouse through school on the promises that they would be successful and take care of you, and not just I got him to marry me and now I deserve the same income as he gets even though he works to earn that income.
