After the memorial at the Staples Center, Michael Jackson's three sisters, La Toya, Janet and Rebbie, spoke to the overflow crowd at the Nokia Theater across the street.

38. They should have let the mourners from the NOKIA come to the Staple Center as there were LOTs and LOTs of empty seats. I guess everyone overestimated the actual amount of people who cared enough to come to the center. Lots of wasted police and services on one person. I hope the city FORCES the Jackson family to foot the bill - he was their KIN as you all keep reminding everyone.
I actually thought the memorial was rather poor in execution and scale. I would have expected something much better with all of the talent in LA. Was really just a wasted few hours of my life I can never get back.
Brooke Shields and John Mayer were great . . . . Al Sharpton was his usually embarassing self reminding us all why racism exist - to keep him relevant.
I am glad it's all over now - just let us know how he died and then let it go.

Someone Who Knows...yes in the past they would beat kids and thought it was a good way to discipline BUT MJ not only received physical abuse but also verbal and being constantly put down and judged by your father is something that can destroy you for the rest of your life. The last people a child thinks would make fun of their face or physical appearance would be their parents and that's exactly what MJ had to endure. He was so self conscious about himself due to his father that he was an extreme introvert, shy, and was also deprived of doing normal kid things because he was working like a grown man at the age of 5. MJ would wash his face in the dark because he could not stand to look at himself because he believed he was ugly due to his father's comments and MJ would cry every day and yet Joe Jackson expected him to be his piggy bank. Also MJ was beat by his dad NOT for disciple because MJ did something wrong like throwing a rock at a window or not doing his homework he was beat by his father because he didn't perform to the standards that his father wanted. Not only is that child abuse but its also illegal regarding child labor laws.

The Michael Jackson "media buzz" for the past week, just shows how "sick and decaying" our country is, when we place more focus on someone who is a "drug abusing alleged pedophile fruitcake" instead of where the attention should be placed which is on our men and women in the armed forces who are fighting and dying every day in the Middle East...
