Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Michael Jackson's family has given the LAPD a list of doctors they believe may have misprescribed drugs to Michael Jackson -- and we've learned Dr. Arnold Klein is on that list.
Dr. Klein came out swinging today on TV, denying he ever prescribed powerful painkillers to Jackson. But the family has its suspicions and passed its concerns along to detectives.

18. Its absolutely horrible this has happened again. Far too many celebrities recently have became hooked on prescription drugs and doctors are only too happy to precribe them to become "a friend" to the stars. I just hope that others learn from this attrocity. RIP MJ

I agree to a point, but there would be no prescription drug addiction if doctors weren't willing to prescribe inappropriately. The fact that an MD has provided a script gives the addict (who is without a doubt in denial, as all addicts are) a false sense of security and propriety, i.e. "I'm not addicted, this is a legitimate medication prescribed by a real doctor." The superior knowledge of physiology and of drug interactions require a medical professional act more responsibly than the people they are treating and if they don't, the law requires that they be held accountable for it. It doesn't excuse Jackson's dependency, but what the physicians did, if they knowingly abetted his addiction or fraudulently prescribed, is a crime and they need to be put out of business.

I heard that on CNN last night, too, but is was from an "unnamed' source and I couldn't find any corroborating information anywhere. After the Sun Newspaper debacle, I hesitate to believe this until it comes from an official source.

25. How come celebrities can find these doctors and a regular working person with insurance cannot get "needed" medications from her own doctors? There is a record of all Type 3 medications prescribed by a doctor. All of the doctors who prescribed "questionable" medications will be found and questioned as they should be. It's sad that Michael Jackson became addicted to certain medications and felt he "needed" them on a regular basis which turned into "abuse." Too many celebrities have died because of this practice and Michael will be missed most by his own children. Losing a father when you are a child is something you NEVER get over!

money speaks louder than words. Those doctors were making money off of MJ. MJ's nurse had said that he tried getting meds from her and that she said no. She even said that he would have paid anything to be able to get some sleep. I'm sure she didn't give it to him, but some other greedy doctor took the pitch. In my eyes not matter who you are, if a patient is asking for a dangerous sleeping method it's your doctors responsibility to take action and speak out. But as we all know there are a lot of greedy people in this world that would do anything to make a buck. I'm sure MJ paid top money to these doctors to get him the meds.
