Erin Andrews Takes One on the Chin

Erin Andrews Super hot sportscaster Erin Andrews shouldn't participate in any activities where balls fly at her face -- "Clueless" anyone? -- because a line drive hit her perfect mug last night during the Mets/Dodgers game.

Andrews -- who serves as a sideline reporter for ESPN -- was struck in the chin by a foul ball hit by New York Mets player Alex Cora during the 4th inning.

Erin was hustled to the hospital a few innings later, but only suffered a bruised chin.

UPDATE: ESPN just released the following statement:

"She's totally fine. The producers on site suggested she go to the hospital as a precaution. Doctors released her soon thereafter. She flew home as scheduled and is looking forward to working MLB All-Star events and the ESPYs in the coming week."

33. At a hastily organized press conference, her doctor announced that Ms. Andrews is fine, just that her nose has temporarily swollen to double a normal size nose. This was immediately followed by a nearby nurse whispering something into the doctor's ear. A startled incredulous look came upon the doctor's face, and he stammered to correct himself and announce that Ms. Andrews is just fine with no remaining effects from the foul ball.

35. I SURE HOPE THAT AFTER TAKING THE BALL IN HER CHIN THAT SHE WAS ABLE TO HAVE IT AS A SOUVINAR.. I USED TO PLAY BASE BALL AND I KNOW HOW IT REALLY HURTS GETTING HIT WITH A BALL IN ANY PLACE AND THE CHIN IS SO DIRECT OF A HIT. I HOPE THE THAT HER CHIN ISN'T TO SORE. A ND IT DOESN'T BRUSE TO BAD. IF IT DOES MAKE UP WORKS MIRCLES LOL. WELL JUST KNOW THIS IT WAS A DAY IN THE SPOT LIGHT. AND JUST THINK YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO WORK HARD FOR THS ONE TO HAPPENED YOU JUST LOOKED UP GOOD THING YOU DID. GETTING HIT IN HEAD WOULD HAVE MAYBE BEEN WORSE. WELL I LOOK AT THIS AS BEING A AIR EXPERIENCE. AT LEAST THE SKY WAS NOT FALLING.

40. I've met her quite a few times working sporting events myself, and she is NOT a nice person. The venue that I work at - several of us sent letters to ESPN producers because she was so rude to us and degrading to the athletes there. Trust me - where we are - she does NOT have a good reputation so hearing that she got hit in the face with a foul ball is probably the best news I've heard out of her!
