16. To zeeklee (# 15) - 'Babushka' IS the word for grandmother in Russian. 'Baba' is the old Russian word for a married woman - used by simple folks in villages, mostly. Baba is used now too, but the uses are limited, and nowadays have nothing to do with the marital status. Yes, sometimes little kids do call their grandmothers Baba (insert any name here), but not too often. The scarf to cover your head is called Kosynka, or Platok, but never Babushka. Shawl, at the very least...
As for the video - absolutely BRILLIANT!
