Jackson Doc Offers 'Potent Narcotic' Solution

One of Michael Jackson's doctors wanted Michael Jackson to trade his dependence on Demerol for another "potent narcotic."

Dr. Alex Farshchian wrote Michael Jackson a letter -- dated July 21, 2002 -- in which he writes, "Buprinex (sic) is the potent narcotic I told you about last week. It is just like the D but better." Buprenex is an injectable narcotic painkiller.

Jackson Doc Offers 'Potent Narcotic' Solution

During a search of Neverland, Santa Barbara County Sheriff's deputies seized a scribbled note -- which may have been written by Jackson and found around his drug stash -- that says "Buprenex does the same as demerol, the only difference is you can't become an addict on Buprenex." The note refers to Buprenex as "synthetic demeroll (sic)." It goes on: "2 viles, I would feel safe having it in case of axident (sic)."

Our research shows if Buprenex is taken for long periods of time or at high doses, it can become addictive.

The doctor refers in his letter to a "5-7 day program that offers you the solution." The doctor does not explain the program.

46. It's sickening to see a doctors letter where he marks out to his patient. Seriously, that's the last person that should be helping him, a superfan. Not good at all. He's in California, he could have used medical marijuana for insomnia, like I do. Who needs man made drugs when marijuana is safe? Poor Michael. Surrounded by marks all his life. No wonder he was so lonely.

47. What does the letter 'D' mean?? Demerol??
-Its just like the 'D' but better-
Law enforcement people didn't do anything about it?
Doctors not worries about giving such powerful drugs?
Family and close people didn't care enough to help?

48. I'm not on the side of these shameless doctors, but TMZ, there is an explanation that appears to accompany the 5 - 7 day program. Picture 24 of 37 appears to explain it, does it not?

49. Sounds more like a fan letter.

50. Is it ironic that this note about a new narcotic states "This is it"? The same name as MJ's "final" tour. I guess it was aptly named that for a reason. Too bad "it" was "it" before he got to "it"!!

53. I just hope this wasn't a physician that wrote this! Geez, the spelling errors!
Buprenorphine is truly a good medication for someone wanting to get off narcotics. It eliminates cravings, allows you to work, all the things "normal" people do. I have never heard of it being "better than the D" (Demerol)-very unlikely that this is true. MJ wouldn't have gone for it in a minute-it contains the medication used to quickly prevent overdose, therefor he would NOT have gotten high on it.

55. Buprenex IS a medication used to wean people off of opiate/opiod medications. It IS often a 5-7 day or longer program. It IS often administered by pain management physicians. It is in the opiate family but does not produce any effects or highs.

FYI there is a BIG difference between physical dependence vs mental "high" addiction but with EITHER a patient will have horrible physical withdrawal symptoms if the medication is suddenly stopped.

56. Hey TMZ, Buprinex is used to detox from Percocet, Demerol and other opiates.

57. Does none of this smell cheesy to anyone else? That "letter" reads like a text message....as if someone got it texted to them and they transcribed it exactly as they read it. The spelling and grammar errors are multiple. Not only that, but the typing of the letter looks fresh and new, while the paper and the letterhead at the top look faded. It seems like someone photoshopped the writing onto the paper and changed the alignment to appear as if it's fading from left to right on the page. Either this is a case of a secretary who hasn't passed elementary English (and coming from Miami, that may be possible) or this letter is a sham. The references to "MJ," being an icon "This is It" and "do it before your second chapter" make me a little suspicious. If this letter is so old, I'm sure Michael would have forgotten about it by now and it wouldn't have been his inspiration for the upcoming tour. Something about both those "notes" strikes me as very odd...

58. Do the research TMZ...it's not hard to google the name on the top of the letter "Center of Regenerative Medicine" to figure out what kind of treatment they provide...duh

59. Bad enough trying to go on a diet, stop eating foods that are killing you, then try to get off nicotine, all tough stuff because the substances you take-abuse are telling you it all right, just keep going whne the reality is your hooked and you need a lot of help to get free. First you need HOPE from those that have been there and are free, then you need love and suport not more enablers that are as bad off as you are. Drugs like M.J. was taking are lethal especially when condoned by doctors , they get you hooked by attacking you physically, mentally and spiirtually, why they calls addiction a three fold disease. Drugs mess with your complex and intricate physiology, your mind, your central nervous system, your metabolism, your brain, your tissues, muscles and tendons, everything, your body and mind become dependent of the effects and your totally hooked. The old adage you cannot mess with Mother Nature is true, you cannot mess with the complex working of the human body and mind and get away with it. The GOOD NEWS, there is HOPE you can get FREE, it is tough stuff but the rewards are much greater than the addiction. GET HELP if you have the symptoms of addiction, you can do it, millions have.
