Artie Lange just pled not guilty to driving under the influence.
As we first reported, Lange was arrested on Friday after rear-ending another car in Toms River, NJ. Lange's lawyer says he passed an alcohol screening test after the crash -- but cops thought he was under the influence anyway and requested a urine sample. The results of that test aren't in yet.
Artie is due back in court on Aug. 26.

27. of course he plead not guilty. the guilty always do. artie lange is a lying liar who lies all the time. he'll swear he hasn't touched a drug in months and then 3 months later he'll come back and laugh about how stupid everybody was for believing his lies.
and howard just lets him do whatever he wants. artie gets away with stuff NOBODY else on howard's staff is allowed to get away with. artie is a big, fat, spoilt baby.

29. Anyone who listens to the Stern show heard Artie swear that the urine test would be clean of illegal narcotics. As to whether there is an abuse of prescription drugs -- who knows? I know a bunch of people who take Lexapro for depression, and side effects can include the shakes and disorientation.I was pulled over once for erratic driving after taking my prescribed dose of effexor. I explained it to the cop...he told me to stop at a rest area and get a cup of coffee. Side effects of antidepressants can mimick alcohol or illegal drug use. Artie seems confident that what was in his system was legit and (for once) I believe him!
