America's justice system is prejudice, (my opinion) it's all about who you are, who you know, and how much moeny you have...case in SD when former Governor Janklow ran a stop sign, killing a man on a motorcycle--he served 100 days in a county jail, probation, community service, lost his drivers and lawyers licenses. BUT since he followed thru all the conditions, he now has both licenses back, plus the charge was removed off his record. Now if it would have been anyone else, they would still be sitting in prison,,,not a county jail, but the state prison!

People are in accidents everyday where unfortunately people are killed or badly hurt. The reasons vary, from speeding, just not paying attention, or careless driving. The list goes on and on. Those EVERDAY people are not jailed. At the most they are ticketed. While this was most definetly a tragedy there is no reason to equate this to her being black.

This site is nothing more than an outlet for people to express prejudice, trasy thoughts. I have realized after reading countless topics that this is clearly not a forum for dignified discussion of the topic itself.

You are right about Broderick, but Rebecca Gayheart...not so much. While she (Gayheart) SHOULD have gone to jail, she did settle with the family (out of court), she was actually charged criminally & pleaded no contest to vehicular manslaughter, she got three years' probation and a one-year license suspension (also community service & a PSA). I think the examples you cited have MUCH less to do with race and more to do with the fact that the Broderick accident happened in 1987 and Gayheart's in 2001. Sites like TMZ (2005) &Perez Hilton (also 2005) didn't even exist then, nor was celebrity gossip as widely read/rampant as it is now. I'm sure if these things would had happened recently/today, it would be just as big of a deal as this accident with Brandy. It's not a race issue, so don't make it one.

45. It's sad that people have to make racial comments on here. I mean somebody died and another person was injured. It could have happen to anybody. Brandy made a mistake and is paying for it. Is this the world we want? Calling people racial slurs and assuming every black person is on crack, in jail or on welfare. When the true statistic is that white people are the major ethnic group on welfare. Please have some compassion people.
