Joe Jackson's Partner was a CrookWe've learned Joe Jackson's business partner for his new record label is a convicted felon.

Marshall Thompson, who Joe famously introduced during a news conference a few days after MJ's death, served 366 days in federal prison back in 2001 after pleading guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit extortion in Illinois.

Thompson -- a retired cop -- conspired with active duty officers to sell police badges to various businessmen for $1,000 to $2,500 a pop.

According to federal docs, the businessmen bought the badges so they could get the perks of being a cop -- carrying a concealed weapon, parking in restricted areas and "receiving discounts for goods and services" ... we're guessing that includes donuts.

Before Thompson became a felon, he was a member of the Chi-Lites -- a band famous for "Have You Seen Her" and "Oh Girl" back in the '70s.

46. Joe Jackson's pal was with the Chi-Lites??!! "Have You Seen Her" and "Oh, Girl" are two of the best songs in the 70's classics collections. Great songs, great singing group, amazing harmony. What happened? These old guys are stomping on everything good. Keep the children away from them and their new exploitive ventures.

48. ok ok...someone explain the fashion here. 1940's gangster, standing behind 1960's gangster? By the way did anyone notice that Joe was often shunned by the musicians at Michael's memorial....? As they left the stage, some were trying to avoid and evade Joe.

49. Dear silly girl, how did the comments about Joe Jackson and his friend turn into a chance for you to take the stump about your personal opinions of Michael and his family? Let's try to stick to the subject at hand and put it on the table about what a crook Joe and his buddy are. why don't you put down the cocktail and do a little research about good ol' Joe and the facts that he exploited his own children and now may be doing the same to his own grandchildren??? Everything the man has done in his entire life has been for his own personal gain, so that should clear up any haze that anyone has about what kind of person he is! I've said it before and I maintain my standing on the facts that the man is a crook so it should not come as any surprise to anyone that he hangs out with people who are cut from the same stone. BIRDS OF A FEATHER!!!!

51. I was at the press conference and at one point Joe Jackson asked to collect $10 bucks per car for parking....then his partner Marshall tried selling me a mickey disney world name tag so I could cut all the lines at disney....

I did buy the name tag.....

55. Joe jackson's partner was a crook???Joe Jackson has been stealing from Michael for 45 out of 50 years (i.e. money, childhood, self esteam, self worth, etc.) and we're worried about his partner??? Yet Michael managed to be an icon in spite of him, not because of him. Rest in peace Michael, and find comfort in the real Father now...God.

57. PIMP GRAND DADDY still looking for a way to make a buck. Apparently Katherine has not control over him, still allows him in her house. He appears to be confident he will have a say in raising the kids. I'd rather see Debbie Rowe have the kids if Joe Jackson is going to be around them. Katherine did not stop Joe from beating their kids, why would she start controlling Joe now. At least let Debbie have the right to get custody in case Joe & Katherine start their same old child rearing habits.
