Jackson Police Probe is 'Criminal,' D.A. Says

Michael JacksonThe LAPD's probe into Michael Jackson's death is a criminal investigation -- according to the L.A. County District Attorney's office.

As we have already reported, multiple law enforcement sources say the LAPD is treating Jackson's death as a homicide.

Although a spokesperson for the LAPD characterizes its probe as a "death investigation," L.A. County D.A. spokesperson Sandi Gibbons says, "There have been conversations by District Attorney personnel with police and Coroner officials in connection with the ongoing investigation. It is common for Los Angeles County law enforcement agencies to be in contact with the District Attorney's office during criminal investigations." (emphasis added).

As we reported, LAPD detectives are treating Jackson's death as a homicide and focusing on Dr. Conrad Murray. Law enforcement sources tell us there is powerful evidence showing that Dr. Murray administered Propofol to Jackson and that drug was the primary cause of his death.

63. Michael may have had a dependency on RX drugs and needed help for it but it was the doctors who kept giving it to him! And they should have known better! I hope they catch everyone who is responsible for the death of MJ!! IF that "doctor" would have called 911 sooner MJ might still be alive!! We love you Michael!

Not trying to sound rude but has anyone heard where Michaels body is? Where will he be buried? What are they going to do with "Neverland"? Aren't Michaels children old enough to speak up about who they want to live with?

64. Jackson was not born an addict.
He suffered terrible injuries in an accident and due to Drs over pescribing for profit was made into an addict.
Its not the same as someone going out to get high for the sake of it.
He was perscribed the drugs by people who we all trust and swear an oath - Drs.
They in turn get him hooked.
Why - so they can then continue to perscribe the medication at an inflated cost.
They create the addict to get their money - look at the money Jackson was paying for perscriptions - the Dr takes their cut - its a buisness - a murky sick selfish business.
Jackson was a victim.
The Drs know what they are doing.
They do it deliberately.
AEG did pay for the Dr but at Jacksons insistence.
Jackson trusted him - he relieved his pain - and made him feel good.
He was reliant on him - because he was an addict - a victim.
So stop with the hes only got himself to blame crap - he was made into an addict, surrounded by hangers on and people ripping him off.
The only true friends - his kids. Who he wanted to ensure had a better childhood then himself.
This Dr gave an infusion of a dangerous drug which should only ever me administered in a surgical setting - not a bedroom - by a trained anethnetist not a cardiologist or any other Dr.
With breathing equipment and critical care available - not in a rented mansion.
This Dr did not start Jacksons addiction but he continued it and put him to death through disregard for basic medical principles and used the drug unlawfully. He committed murder.
And then waited trying to cover it up. And failing at that.
And for the peado comments.
This is a fair and just Country.
There was no evidence, never was. Hence the not guilty verdict.
So enough with that its inaccurate, unfair and simply wrong.
He was a naive, innocent guy with huge talent and an abusive childhood.
He did the best he could - And his best was simply THE BEST WE LL EVER SEE.EVER.
And this Dr and his like took not only that from the world but a doting father from his children - and for that crime he should pay.

66. This is a tragedy. A nurse in Florida got life without parole for murder giving IV propofol to a woman in her home. Nothing will bring Michael Jackson back. MJ had a tortured life and died on the verge of a comeback. It is truly sad that he died not knowing how much his fans still appreciated his work.

70. So does that mean if MJ had taken a drug he could have administered himself that the law would view it as a suicide? Which would clear the docs who prescribed the meds in the first place?

72. Conrad Murray's role in Michael Jackson's life is suspicious from the beginning. Who gets paid 150,000 a month to be a personal doctor. He was getting paid so much becuase what he was doing was illegal and unethical. What doctor waits 25- 30 minutes before calling 911 in an emergency?? What was he doing all that time? Hiding evidence?? The police should arrest Murray immediately!!

73. Its impossible to adminster that drug yourself.

Posted at 6:25PM on Jul 16th 2009 by Jason

74. No Mechelle....it would have been considered an accidental overdose. However, that scenario would only alleviate the ADMINISTERING doctor, which in your case, there was none. The pharmacy and the doctor who prescribed would still be held liable in a criminal court.

75. According to Rebecca White, Debbie Rowe sent her an e-mail that read, "My lawyer is telling me I have to take some responsibility about the welfare of the children. Do I want the kids? Hell no. Does it look good for me to ask for them? Absolutely. I don't want to look like the woman who gave away her kids and just forgot about them." Unfortunately, being the woman who the world knows wrote "hell no" on the matter of whether or not she wanted her children is probably a worse turn of events than Rowe could have predicted.
